Quick Facts About Andrews Plaice
Andrews Plaice Place is a highly regarded fish and chip shop among its customers, with several positive comments highlighting its strengths. One of the key strengths mentioned is its ability to maintain the taste of traditional fish and chips, just like they were in the past. This indicates that the shop uses traditional cooking methods and ingredients, resulting in a nostalgic and authentic experience for customers who have been enjoying fish and chips for many years. Additionally, the fact that they sell Rock, a traditional British candy, shows their commitment to preserving aspects of the past and catering to the cravings of a wide range of customers.
Another strength of Andrews Plaice Place is their separate fryers, ensuring that not all the food is cooked together. This is crucial as it helps maintain the distinct flavors of each item on the menu. By avoiding cross-contamination, they are able to deliver great-tasting fish and chips consistently. This attention to detail and dedication to quality sets them apart from other fish and chip shops in the area.
Customers also appreciate the value for money they receive when dining at Andrews Plaice Place. One commenter mentions that a medium cod and chips is more than enough, even for someone with a big appetite. This indicates that the portion sizes are generous and satisfying, providing customers with a fulfilling meal at a reasonable price. This quality makes Andrews Plaice Place an attractive option for those seeking a good value for their money.
The positive reviews further emphasize the friendly and professional service provided by the staff. Friendly service contributes to an overall positive dining experience and encourages customers to return.
However, there is one negative comment among the positive ones. The customer states that they had a negative experience with overcooked and almost stale fish and chips. While this comment may be an isolated incident, it still raises concerns about consistency and quality control. Customers rely on Andrews Plaice Place to consistently deliver great-tasting food, and instances of overcooking and staleness can lead to disappointment. This negative comment serves as a reminder that even the best establishments can have off days, and it is important for Andrews Plaice Place to address any quality control issues to ensure consistency.
In conclusion, Andrews Plaice Place is a highly regarded fish and chip shop, with customers praising its traditional taste, separate fryers, value for money, and customer service. The positive comments outweigh the negative one, indicating that the shop's strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. However, addressing any lapses in quality control and ensuring consistent delivery of great-tasting fish and chips will further solidify Andrews Plaice Place as a top choice among fish and chip lovers in the area.

Best chippy around the area. Taste just like it did when I was young. Even sell Rock for those who remember it. They have separate fryers. So not all the food is cooked together. That’s why the flavours are great. Would recommend to anyone who likes traditional fish and chip supper !!!
Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Great value too, a medium cod n chips is more than enough. I have a big appetite!
As a Brit living in the USA, this is my number one go-to place to resolve my cravings.
The best ever family run fish & chips. Fresh & very tasty. A must for fish lovers. Very patient, professional and courteous owners. Try it once & you will travel miles to re visit.
The food here is usually good but I went there at 7:50 on a Thursday evening - brought £25 worth of fish ‘n chips and it was over cooked and almost stale - Couldn’t eat any of it! Awful!
Great fish and chips and friendly service. Use regularly and always satisfied.
Nice chips (not too oily) and same with the fish. Battered sausage was great, crispy and not greasy and top marks for the curry sauce. Staff are friendly too. Can’t go wrong ????????
Best fish and chips ever...not sure why there are bad reviews, we live locally and have never had a bad experience. It's a lovely family run business, the fish is always crispy and never oily! Good portions as well.
Excellent traditional chippy, I used to work at fish and chip shops on the seafront in Scarborough when I was younger (almost 20 years ago) and this is a rare time I've tried them outside of my home town... the haddock and chips is very good, always cooked fresh and the portions are very generous.
