Quick Facts About Bilash Indian Restaurant
Bilash Indian Restaurant has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, the restaurant is highly recommended by locals and offers great food. The portions are described as generous, indicating that customers get good value for their money. The service is attentive and the staff member is knowledgeable about the dishes, providing a positive dining experience. The fact that the restaurant has been operating for decades suggests that it has a loyal customer base and a history of success.
The decor of the restaurant is also mentioned positively, with one customer even stating that it took them back to a time when things were great. This indicates that the ambiance and design of the restaurant are appealing and contribute to a pleasant dining experience.
In terms of weaknesses, one comment mentions that the restaurant is extremely run down and does not smell nice. This suggests that the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant may be lacking, which can negatively impact the dining experience and turn away potential customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the slow service. Despite there being only one other table on a Saturday night, the food took a long time to arrive. Slow service can be frustrating for customers and may discourage them from returning.
Several comments also highlight the poor quality of the food. One customer mentions that the tandoori chicken tasted old and was not cooked in a tandoor oven. Other comments mention that the food was cold, not what was ordered, or had overpowering spices. These issues suggest a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen and a failure to meet customer expectations in terms of taste and quality.
The comment about the staff member being rude and not addressing customer concerns also reflects poorly on the restaurant. Good customer service is essential in the hospitality industry, and a negative interaction with a staff member can greatly impact the overall perception of the restaurant.
Despite the low quality of the food, one comment mentions that the prices are very reasonable. While the affordability of the food may be a strength for some customers, it does not make up for the poor quality that was experienced.
Overall, Bilash Indian Restaurant has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. The positive aspects include a recommendation from locals, good food, generous portions, attentive service, and appealing decor. However, the negative aspects include a run-down atmosphere, slow service, poor quality food, and issues with customer service. The restaurant should focus on improving these weaknesses in order to provide a better overall dining experience.

Great food never disappointed highly recommend. Food tastes fresh and service is great. I love the fact when your order for collection of delivery he always double checks to make sure everything has been packed unlike other establishments. Thank you Bilash for the great food.
When you want to experience family run restaurant, this is the place to try.
They have been operating for decades and you can see that the furniture is dated (not old/dirty )
Food however is fresh very clean and flavoursome ! Staff member is very knowledgable about the dishes and I appreciate his interaction with the guests ..
I would come here again
The restaurant is extremely run down. It did not smell nice. I regretted going in there straight away with family. I only went based on google review and that was an error.
Even though there was only one other table other than us on a saturday night the food took ages to arrive.
The food was poor.
The tandoori chicken tasted old and extremely odd. It was not cooked in a tandoor oven.
The curries were marginally better. To be honest i could not get out fast enough.
There was only one guy front of house. He tried his best.
The food is very cheap but even then quality is poor. As i did not touch the tandoori chicken they did not charge for it. I tried to pay but they refused.
The restaurants heart is in the right place but clearly they have fallen on hard times. A real shame
The food was delicious and the service was really good too. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Definitely recommend it for a simple, quiet evening out with friends or family.
me and my partner went for diner the food was cold and was not the dishes we requested, prawn puree/tikka puree was overpowered with spices puree was made of parata, meat curry was runny and chicken biriani chicken was smelling old, waiter seen we did not touch our food after few bites he did not even check on us to see if we was ok, he kept on watching us not eating he was rude did not care. when we ask for the bill he just hand us the bill, was not concern why we did not eat or ask for takeaway box. this place serves worse indian food ever, we went the thinking its bengali owner must know his food well, but it was a total waste of money and time!!
Friendly staff, tasty good quality food and very reasonable prices
BIR at its best. The lamb saag is the best I've experienced. Quite salty but spinach needs the saltiness - the lamb meat is generous and comes in chunks. I like the bindi, cauliflower curries, chicken tikka (main) and prawn puri (TBH,, they should deep fry the chapati). To say the prices are reasonable and grt value is an understatement. I usually buy 2 portions of each to have the next day. TBH, it should 4*-5* but I only get the takeaway. If you eat in, the decor dates back to the 80s which migth be a bit of surprise so, a 4* overall.
