Quick Facts About Bridgewater Hotel

The Bridgewater Hotel has several strengths that make it a popular and well-regarded establishment. Firstly, it is described as a nice and friendly local boozer with a cozy and lovely interior. The fact that it is a Sam Smiths establishment is also seen as a positive, as it offers cask bitter, light mild, and double 4 on tap, which are reasonably priced and from their own brewery. This adds to the unique character of the place as it offers drinks that are not commonly found elsewhere.
Another strength is the presence of various facilities within the pub. It has a games room with pool and darts, as well as a snug along with the bar. This provides options for entertainment and socializing, catering to different preferences. Additionally, there is an outside area with seating, allowing patrons to enjoy their drinks in the fresh air.
The pub is known for its welcoming atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. It is described as the friendliest pub in Farnworth, with a great landlord and landlady who make visitors feel welcome, even if they are complete strangers. This creates a sense of community and fosters positive experiences for customers.
The fact that the Bridgewater Hotel is a digital detox pub, meaning that mobile phones, TVs, and loud music are not allowed, is seen as both a strength and a weakness. On one hand, this creates an environment where people can have uninterrupted conversations and engage with others. It promotes social interaction and a break from the constant distractions of technology. However, some customers may see this policy as restrictive and prefer having access to music or TV for entertainment purposes.
While the pub is popular with locals and older people, the fact that it explicitly states that it is not suitable for children and only accepts cash can be seen as a weakness. This limits its potential customer base and may deter families or those who prefer using electronic payment methods.
Despite its strengths, there are also some criticisms of the Bridgewater Hotel. One customer complained about being charged £1.40 for a glass of water, which is seen as excessive. They also criticized the pricing, mentioning that a pint of beer was cheaper than a glass of water, which penalizes nominated drivers who choose not to drink alcohol. This pricing policy may not sit well with customers who expect more reasonable prices for non-alcoholic beverages.
Another complaint mentioned the quality of the beer, describing it as rubbish and horrible. This indicates a lack of consistency or quality control in terms of the drinks served at the pub. Additionally, there was a mention of toilets not being signed well, leading to confusion and a male friend accidentally entering the ladies' restroom. This highlights a potential issue with the pub's facilities and signage.
In conclusion, the Bridgewater Hotel has many strengths that make it a popular choice among locals and older customers. Its cozy interior, own brewery drinks, friendly staff, and facilities such as a games room contribute to its positive reputation. However, there are also areas that could be improved, such as the pricing of non-alcoholic drinks, quality control of the beer, and signage in the toilets. Overall, it offers a unique and welcoming experience for those seeking a traditional and conversation-focused pub environment.

Nice and friendly local boozer. Sam smiths establishment with cask bitter, Light mild and double 4 on tap. Has a games room with pool and darts and a snug along with the bar. Also has a back room but not sure what this is used for. Sam smiths so cash only, no swearing and no kids.. There's an outside area with seating. Popular with locals and older folk. Nice pub ???? ???? ???? ????
Different to most places. No phones music TV etc which makes it great for chatting to other locals. Reasonably priced own brewery drinks. Nice staff. Lovely interior.
Fantastic cozy place to have one of their house own branded drinks. As it is a digital detox pub there no mobile phones or anything allowed, which makes it a place to have a good conversation without any distractions. There's also no TVs or loud music.
One of my favourite pubs, but unfortunately don't get to go in much with living too far away now. Great landlord and landlady.
What can I say cheap good beer and great people
Friendliest pub in Farnworth
Only just moved to this area, the Bridgewater Hotel is a well designed pub selling a beautiful pint of bitter.
This now my local the pub is comfortable with coal fires and great atmosphere mine hosts are great with a cheerful smile and great welcome even to a complete stranger I was made to feel welcome from my first visit
Just been charged £1.40 for a glass of water! Sam Smith's brewery what are you doing charging 1.40 for a glass of water and 2.00 for a pint of beer. As the nominated driver it would have been cheaper to have a 1/2 pint of beer than a glass of what is usually virtually free soda water on tap!!! Surely there's something wrong here when nominated drivers are penalised for NOT drinking alcohol. Most pubs these days either don't charge for soda water or charge a small amount.
Rubbish beer. Tasted horrible. Not aloud to use phone. Toilets not signed very well. Male friend walked into ladies. Not all staff wore masks
