Quick Facts About Eighty 8
Eighty 8 place, based on the comments provided, has several strengths and weaknesses that contribute to its overall image and customer satisfaction. This analysis will delve into these aspects and provide a balanced assessment of the restaurant.
Starting with the strengths, one common theme among the comments is the quality of the food. Customers consistently praise the taste and deliciousness of the dishes, with one individual noting that the spring rolls are "superb" and possibly the best in town. This positive feedback regarding taste and quality is crucial for any food establishment, as it forms the basis of customer loyalty and repeat business. Furthermore, the price of the food is also mentioned positively, being described as competitively priced. This suggests that the restaurant is able to offer tasty dishes without overcharging its customers, making it an attractive option within the dining market.
The efficiency of service is another strength highlighted in the comments. Several customers mention the short waiting times for takeaways, with one individual reporting waiting only about 7 minutes. This indicates that the restaurant has a well-organized and efficient kitchen that is able to prepare orders in a timely manner, a quality that customers value. Additionally, the friendly and polite staff are commended, emphasizing positive customer service experiences. Having amicable staff members improves the overall customer experience and can leave a lasting impression on patrons.
Moving on to weaknesses, one recurring concern is the waiting time during peak hours. One customer mentions having to call hundreds of times to get through, which indicates a potential issue with the restaurant's phone system or staffing during busy periods. Long waiting times can be frustrating for customers and may deter them from ordering in the future. This is an area that the restaurant should address to ensure a smoother ordering process for customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the declining flavor of the food over the past year or so. A long-standing customer mentions that the taste has been hit or miss recently. This decline in flavor may be attributed to various reasons, such as changes in the cooking process, ingredients, or recipe alterations. Maintaining the consistent quality of the food is crucial for customer satisfaction and loyalty, so the restaurant should address this issue to prevent losing regular customers.
An area of concern raised by a customer is the front of house staff. They mention that these staff members are rude, frequently charge incorrectly, and make mistakes with orders. This negative experience creates a poor impression of the restaurant and can lead to frustrated customers. It is highly recommended that the management takes these comments into serious consideration and addresses any training or management issues within the front of house team.
Additionally, a few customers express inconvenience due to the restaurant accepting cash only. In today's digital age, having multiple payment options (such as card or mobile payments) is expected by many customers. Requiring cash-only payments may limit the potential customer base and cause frustration for individuals who prefer alternative payment methods. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to adapt to modern payment options, enabling a more convenient and diverse range of payment choices for customers.
In conclusion, Eighty 8 place has several strengths and weaknesses that impact its overall image and customer satisfaction. The restaurant excels in terms of delicious and competitively priced food, efficient service, and friendly staff. On the other hand, it faces challenges with waiting times during peak hours, declining flavor consistency, and issues with the front of house staff and payment methods. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for the restaurant to maintain and improve its reputation, customer satisfaction, and long-term success.

Ordered a takeaway chicken dish and only waited about 7 minutes. The staff were very friendly and polite. Food was delicious and competitively priced. Have used it several times since. Haven't had a bad takeaway yet.
Quite slow to get food. However staff were great and tobefair it was busy. Food is decent
At peak hours you need to call hundreds of times sometimes to get through but it's well worth it for the amazing Chinese takeaway food - possibly the best in Scotland.
Spring rolls are superb. The best in town. But I am not convinced that the sweet and sour chicken was real meat and the sauce was way too spicy for sweet and sour.
Increasingly hit or miss, been going here for 3 decades, but the past year or so has seen a decline in the flavour. Shame.
Freshly cooked, food is pretty good. Sadly let down by the front of house staff who at best are rude and frequently charge incorrectly and get orders wrong and incomplete. There are a few other restaurants in Ayr which provide a much better and friendlier service. If the owners reading this, sack your front of house staff.
Got the beef curry on Monday as my favourite takeaway was closed ,normally pretty gd ,disappointed still chewing some of the beef yet ,still deciding whether to try again ☹
Food ok, delivery takes too long. but cash only.. little suspicious to me any business these days not providing customers more convenient ways to pay. Recent order was a collection, told me had to go get cash. I just had to walk away leaving them holding my order as no wallet on me, just phone for apple pay. Never have that issue anywhere else.
