Old school diner that serves the best of what Mamma used to make. We went a couple of places in town because of their ratings and neither came close to the great meals this place put together. Gallagher's proves you don't have to spend an arm or a leg to get quality food... The wait staff was attentive and courteous. Meal came out quick and hot. Too bad we don't live closer as this would be a definite go too.
The Western burger was Outstanding! Fast friendly service. Highly recommend when going through Miles City and MT.
Waited about a hr for our food, then the food doesn't come out all at ounce. The waiter didn't come back to the table after the last dish was served, till we was getting up to pay. Food isn't that good. Floor was super dirty.
And on top of everything.... it wasn't even that busy, they had alot of empty tables.... so no reason for the poor service....

15 tables and 4 staff could not keep up.
They have one good cook maybe the food has not came out good like it used to somebody else needs to take it over because I'm hearing so many down things about this restaurant now I'm disappointed in it when I go so I stopped going
Note: Visited them July 30th on the way back from Missoula. Used to love this place would visit once a year. Took my fiancé and was not impressed with their breakfast (biscuits and gravy were too peppery).
I was not impressed with the waitresses this go around. The restaurant was not too packed but seemed like one (waitress #1) was too busy to be able to serve the right drinks to the elderly couples. And the other (waitress #2) was flitting around not helping the main waitress. When a couple asked waitress #1 for a to go box when she walked by. She acknowledged their request but the poor couple had to wait for over 5 minutes before they went up to her and asked if they could get a to go box.
When it was our turn to pay for our meal waitress #1 was busy so we went to waitress #2 who was behind the pay counter. Her response, "I'm sorry I cannot ring you up because I don't have Waitress #1 key code, you'll have to wait."
If that's the case, don't stand behind the register counter go up to waitress #1 and ask for the code to ring up a meal or help her with wiping tables, taking orders, or serving drinks. I get it it's hard to find people who want to work but they need to train their staff better when it comes to common courtesy, punctuality, working as a team, and helping each other out.
I was very disappointed because I got the Captain Crunch French toast to go and when I got back to my motel across the street I discovered that no utensils had been included. It was 101° outside and I didn't want to go back across the street. I checked with my motel and they had no cutlery. I called Gallagher and explained the problem. They said they didn't know what they were supposed to do about it. I suggested they send someone over with utensils and preferably a fresh food order as mine was rapidly deteriorating. I was put on hold for several minutes and then told someone would be over in 2 seconds. 5 minutes later the cutlery arrives. Two bites in and I knew I had just wasted my money and would not be eating this mess. Gee, thanks Gallaghers.
This is the 4 times and all have been less then desirable...Tried to give them another chance but was the same everytime. Messed up orders...gravy and fries came after the meal.Not good. Wait staff seemed friendly but not good experiences for us. We drove quite a distance ( 11 hrs ) only to be disappointed. Won't go again.
