Quick Facts About Graveleys Fish & Chips
Graveleys Fish & Chips has received a mix of positive and negative comments from different customers. By analyzing these comments, we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant.
One strength that is consistently mentioned is the quality of the fish. Multiple customers praised the fish, describing it as fantastic and well-made. It is noted that the cod, in particular, has a light taste that surpasses the Canadian counterpart. This positive feedback suggests that the restaurant excels in preparing and cooking fish.
Another strength that is mentioned is the exceptional gravy and chips. Customers specifically highlight the quality and taste of the gravy and chips, indicating that these menu items are of high standard. This positive feedback suggests that the restaurant has put effort into ensuring that these items meet customer expectations.
Customer service is also identified as a strength. Multiple customers remarked on the friendliness, politeness, and willingness of the staff to help. These positive interactions contribute to a positive dining experience and indicate that the restaurant has attentive and customer-oriented staff.
Portion sizes are praised as being great by one customer, indicating that the restaurant provides generous servings. This can be an appealing aspect for customers who are looking for value for money and appreciate large portions.
However, there are also weaknesses identified by customers. One common critique is the quality of the chips. Several customers mentioned that the chips were greasy and oily, which left something to be desired. This inconsistency in quality suggests that the restaurant may need to improve its chip-cooking process to ensure a consistently high standard.
Another weakness that arose from one customer's comment was the quality of the fish in a fish butty. The customer experienced a bad piece of fish, which they described as awful. This negative feedback suggests that the restaurant may need to maintain consistency in the quality of their fish across different menu items.
One customer mentioned that the fish often has too much batter, indicating that the balance between batter and fish may not always be ideal. This could be perceived as a weakness for customers who prefer a higher proportion of fish to batter.
Parking is mentioned as a slight downside, with one customer having to circle three times before finding a space. This suggests that parking availability may be limited, particularly during busy periods such as match days. Addressing this issue could improve the overall customer experience.
In conclusion, Graveleys Fish & Chips has strengths in the quality of the fish, exceptional gravy and chips, friendly customer service, and generous portion sizes. However, there are weaknesses in the consistency of chip quality, fish quality in certain menu items, the proportion of batter to fish, and limited parking availability. By addressing these weaknesses, the restaurant can further enhance its reputation and provide a consistently positive dining experience for customers.

Went here for fish and chips take out. The fish itself was fantastic. Light tasting, well made cod. Generally coming from Canada I don’t like cod but there is something that the British do that makes it taste so much better.
The downfall is the greasy, oily chips. I must admit that’s something left to be desired and didn’t eat it all. I didn’t take a photo like I normally do.
Experience was good. I’d recommend. The ratings average is pretty accurate at 4.
Had a fish butty and didn't eat it all as half way through I got a really bad bit of fish which was awfull.
I do believe it is under new ownership as I have been here many times and never had a bad fish.
This is a very good fish and chip shop. The gravy and chips are exceptional.
Great for a pre match fuel up, chips and curry sauce won't do you wrong. Didn't have the fish but it looked good, it's a little pricey but pretty typical for a match day bite so close to a stadium, would definitely go again
Great pirtion sizes. Lovely pie, chips, peas and gravey but the fish often ends up being made up of too much batter.
All the staff at Tyre Maintenance ltd Leeds decided on an unplanned fish and chip lunch.
As we are all unfamiliar with the area we opted to try Graveleys on Elland Road and we were treated to first class service and food.
The staff were friendly, polite and willing to help.
The standard of the fish was excellent and good value for money.
Lovely workers very friendly and open to talk and really nice comfort food! Even gave me an extra sausage on the house
Best fish and chips that we have had in a long long time!! Called today and actually came through to Leeds purposely to try the fish and chips from here as we had heard that they were good and we've been to a lot of fish shops over the past few years, including the bigger chains and been very disappointed with the quality, especially for the price some of them charge. Both my husband and myself had fish and chips each and we bought a carton of gravy that we shared as there was enough for both of us. The quality of the food was fantastic and its been a long time since I ate as much of the meal as I did on this occasion. Its a bit of a distance for us to come here from where we live near Barnsley but it's well worth the travel and we'll definitely be visiting again and will also recommend to anybody, the only slight downside is the parking, we had to circle 3 times before we managed to get a space and because it's located opposite the Leeds United stadium I personally would give match day a miss as I imagine it would be extremely busy.
