Quick Facts About Ivy

Ivy Place is a takeaway restaurant that has received mixed reviews from customers. While some have praised the quality and value of the food, as well as the friendly staff, others have experienced issues with rude service and inconsistencies in their orders.
One of the strengths of Ivy Place, as mentioned by a customer, is the quality of the food. The chicken curry with fried rice was described as "really good" and worth the five-star rating. The Salt & Chilli King Prawns dish was also praised for its flavor and generous portion size. The prawn crackers that were included for free were seen as an added bonus. Another customer mentioned that the beef and black bean chow mein was the best they had ever eaten, even traveling a long distance to get it. These positive comments demonstrate that Ivy Place is capable of producing delicious and satisfying meals.
Another strength of Ivy Place is the reasonable wait time for orders. Despite a busy period with multiple orders ahead of them, one customer only had to wait 20 minutes for their food. This shows that the restaurant is efficient in managing its orders and able to provide a quick service.
The friendly staff, particularly the owners Jenny and Raymond, were appreciated by some customers. They were described as welcoming and always up for a chat, creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for customers. When the staff is friendly and attentive, it can greatly enhance the overall dining experience and encourage customers to return.
In terms of weaknesses, one customer mentioned that the prawn toast was a bit greasy, although they acknowledged that it can be hit or miss at most takeaways. Another customer complained about the long delivery time, with their order taking two hours to arrive. While the food was still hot when it did arrive, the lengthy wait time can be frustrating for customers, especially when they are hungry and expecting a timely delivery.
A significant weakness mentioned by a customer was the rude behavior of a staff member. The customer recounted an incident where they were barked at by a Chinese lady who seemed annoyed and busy. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and can greatly impact a customer's perception of the establishment. Rude behavior towards customers can deter them from returning and negatively affect the reputation of the restaurant.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer was an issue with pricing and the quality of the curry sauce. They felt that they were charged a different price than what was initially communicated and that the curry sauce was insufficient, making the meal dry. Consistency in pricing and the quality of the dishes is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Any discrepancies or shortcomings in these areas can leave customers feeling unsatisfied and discouraged from returning.
In conclusion, Ivy Place has strengths such as the quality and flavor of its food, reasonable wait times, and friendly staff. However, it also has weaknesses such as instances of rude behavior, inconsistencies in pricing and food quality, and long delivery times. It is important for the restaurant to address these weaknesses and prioritize customer service in order to provide a positive and satisfactory experience for all customers.

Best TL Reviews

This was the first chicken curry with fried rice I have eaten in at least 13 years. It was recommended (and paid for!) by a friend. Good call that man! I can be quite picky, but I needn't have worried. Really good food. A quality sized portion with prawn crackers thrown in. I will return and also recommend.. worth every one of those five stars!
I ordered a prawn toast and a Salt & Chilli King Prawns with chips.
Busy wee place and they were dealing with a large order when I arrived. There were several orders ahead of me but I only waited 20 minutes which was pretty reasonable wait.
The prawn toast was ok - a bit greasy. To be honest prawn toast I feel is hit or miss at most takeaways anyway.
The Salt & Chilli King prawns was excellent. It can with either rice or chips. Loads of chilli, onion, spring onion, and plenty of battered prawns. The flavour was great. Loads of ships too - I ended up halving the portion there was that many. They also gave me a wee bag of prawn crackers for free.
The total cost was £10.80 which I feel is good value. Be aware it is a cash only takeaway. I had to go round to Tesco to get cash out.
I will be back!
Lady on phone quite cheeky took 2hrs for delivery to come.
Food was hot when it did arrive eventually
This is Take away only but the food is excellent.
Tonight, Saturday 11th September and a man politely told me someone would come out and take my order. Fine by me. So, out comes a Chinese lady and she barks at me. “Pick up or order!” I didn’t understand straight away and apologise and said I’d like to order. She had sounded very annoyed in her tone when she spoke to me and I asked her if she was annoyed to which she barked. “I’m very busy.”
I just left the shop and will never go back. To talk to a customer like that because she was busy is not good at all.
When she is not so busy I hope she isn’t counting my custom.
Very rude person and I left the shop very angry inside to be spoken to like that.
Best beef and black bean chow mein thin Noddles I've ever eaten. This place is so good I travelled all the way from Stirling took a detour off the M8 to go get some. Staff are amazingly friendly. Never fails to live up to my expectations. Well done guys keep up the great work!!
Have been visiting The Ivy for 3+ years now. We love it! Jenny and Raymond (the owners) are very friendly and will always be up for a chat. They get our order right every time! Will never stray as they offer not only brilliant takeaway food but the friendliness in here is exemplary! X
