Quick Facts About Kans

Kan's Place is a Chinese take-away and chippy with a loyal customer base. Customers have been ordering from this place for 35 years and have always had amazing food. The strengths of Kan's Place include the delicious food, quick and friendly service, and the "amazing" chips. The best salt and pepper chips are available here, according to one customer who claims to have tried many other Chinese restaurants. The Singapore fried rice and chicken satay are also highly recommended.
Another strength of Kan's Place is its value for money. One customer mentioned that they paid only £4 for pudding, chips, and gravy, and found it very tasty. This indicates that the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Cash-only payment is accepted, which some customers may find inconvenient, but it is not mentioned as a significant drawback.
However, there are some weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One customer mentioned that Kan's Place does not deliver and only takes cash as payment. In this modern age, many people prefer to order food online and pay electronically. By not adapting to technology and offering delivery services, Kan's Place may risk falling behind its competitors.
One customer had a negative experience with the food quality. They described the chicken as "watery" and claimed that the crispy beef did not taste like beef at all. They were extremely disappointed with the meal and ended up not eating it. This indicates a weakness in consistency and quality control at Kan's Place.
Another customer mentioned that their takeaway order was confusing as both dishes looked and tasted identical. The sauces in both dishes were described as thick and syrupy, suggesting that they were overly thickened. This inconsistency and lack of attention to detail in food preparation is a weakness that should be addressed by Kan's Place.
One customer complained about receiving chips with thick, dark brown gravy instead of curry. This suggests a lack of accuracy and attention to customer orders, leading to dissatisfaction.
Finally, there was a comment about the chips being greasy, limp, and lacking flavor. This indicates a quality issue with one of the staple items on the menu, which is a significant weakness.
In conclusion, Kan's Place has several strengths, including delicious food, quick and friendly service, and value for money. However, there are weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as the refusal to adapt and utilize technology by not offering delivery services and accepting only cash payments. Inconsistency in food quality, lack of attention to detail in food preparation, and accuracy issues with customer orders are also weaknesses that should be improved upon. Overall, Kan's Place has a strong customer base but should focus on addressing these weaknesses to maintain its reputation and stay competitive in the market.

We've been ordering from here for 35 years and the food has always been amazing, never had a bad meal. It's our 'go to' place for Chinese food and regular chippy food. The best Singapore fried rice and Chicken satay. Chips are amazing as is everything else. Service is quick and friendly. Cash only, but for great food, who cares. Love this place.
Best salt and pepper chips ever, hands down. I have never tasted any as good as Kans and I've been to every Chinese around. Only issue is they only take cash and don't deliver. They need to modernise or risk lagging behind due to their refusal to adapt and utilise technology
This is definitely my current favourite Chinese take-away. They don't deliver, so we have only used them during our Dry January, but they are definitely worth missing a Saturday afternoon pint for. (The salt and pepper chips are a thing of beauty.)
Terrible quality food. Watery chicken. Crispy beef isn’t beef. Didn’t even eat the meal.
Last night my hubby & I ordered a takeaway. Mixed vegetables Kung Po for me & Szechaun chicken for him. No rice / noodles were included in the price for these main dishes. When we got them home we didn't know which was which as they both looked identical & both tasted identical, which was bizarre as they are completely different dishes. We finally identified them after digging around and found the one with chicken. The sauces in both dishes were thick & syrupy and had obviously been "padded out" with too much thickening agent. My Mixed Veg Kung Po consisted of mainly carrots, onion, and a tiny amount of green pepper, beansprouts & corn and contained ZERO CASHEWS, which are the main ingredient of Kung Po. Hubby's Szechaun was not at all spicy. Overall a complete disappointment.
Our food was revolting! My husband ordered chips and curry twice, we ended up with chips with thick dark brown, disgusting gravy, not impressed!
Great value.... Paid £4 for pudding chips and gravy. Very tasty and I will definitely be back
Just had some of the worst chips I've ever been served. Very very greasy, limp and with no flavour what so ever.
It's hard to understand how badly they can get one of the basic of a chinese chippy
