Quick Facts About Leo's

Leo's place, based on the comments, has both strengths and weaknesses in terms of its fish and chips. I will analyze each aspect in detail to provide a comprehensive assessment.
Starting with the strengths, Leo's place received praise for their delicious fish and chips. One comment mentions that the fish is nicely battered and super crispy, while another states that the fish and chips are great and would buy again when in the area. This highlights the quality of the fish and the overall taste of the dish, which seems to have left a positive impression on certain customers. Additionally, one customer mentions that the portions are decent and not oversized, making it easier to enjoy the entire meal without waste. This suggests that Leo's place focuses on providing appropriate serving sizes.
Another strength that stands out is the kindness and helpfulness of the owners. One customer shares a personal experience where they were in a tricky situation and the owners went out of their way to assist them. This demonstrates good customer service and a willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy customers. Such positive interactions can create a loyal customer base and lead to positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
Moving on to the weaknesses, several comments highlight various issues with the food quality at Leo's place. The most common complaint revolves around the fish being greasy and the batter being too thick. Customers mention that the fish is not cooked on the inside, indicating a potential inconsistency or lack of attention to detail in the cooking process. Another customer states that the food tastes vile, is precooked, cold, and soggy. These negative experiences imply a lack of consistency in the quality of the food, suggesting that the kitchen may face challenges in delivering consistently good dishes.
Another weakness mentioned is the poor quality of the chips. One customer compares them to tarmac, implying that they are overly cooked and lack the desired texture. Another comment mentions brown and dry chips, indicating a potential issue with the cooking or frying process. Inconsistencies in the quality of the chips can significantly impact the overall enjoyment of the meal.
One comment suggests that Leo's place might have changed ownership, as they did not recognize the family from their previous visit. This change in ownership could potentially explain the inconsistency in food quality, as different chefs and cooks may have different approaches and cooking techniques.
Additionally, one customer warns others to avoid Leo's place, stating that the food is precooked, cold, soggy, and tastes vile. They also highlight the lack of local popularity, indicating that locals may be aware of the restaurant's poor quality.
In conclusion, Leo's place receives mixed reviews regarding their fish and chips. While some customers praise the delicious, crispy fish and good portions, others complain about the greasy batter, uncooked fish, and poor quality chips. The kindness of the owners and their willingness to assist customers are commendable, but the negative comments about food quality suggest potential inconsistencies and issues in the kitchen. It may be worth considering these strengths and weaknesses before making a decision about dining at Leo's place.

Best TL Reviews

Think this has changed hands since we last visited here a year ago as did not recongnise the family. Fish very greasy and batter way too thick that inside its not cooked. All used to be very fresh and crispy. Not any more.
Poor quality. Everything seems to be precooked and re fried when you ask for it.. dry and brown chips and fish batter greasy
The owners were incredibly kind to me when I came in with my young son and ended up in a tricky situation that they helped me out with. The fish and chips were also so delicious that I came back later with my husband and he had some too and they were equally excellent. Highly recommend.
Really good fish & chips. Decent size portions for 1 person, not oversized so you can't eat it all. Fish is good and nicely battered and the chips are always good. This is not local to us, but we will go the extra distance.
Worse food I’ve had from takeaway in years. We have heatwave cost us curry & noodles with chips oh had to share them to cost us £19 I’ll never go again. Chips you tarmac the road with. Not good
The best chip shop I've found in Oxfordshire so far
Great fish and chips, would buy again when in the area super crispy and really tasty
Please avoid this place. The food is precooked, cold, soggy and tastes vile. No wonder this place wasn’t busy locals must know how bad it is. Anyone like myself working out of town save your money and go somewhere else.
