Quick Facts About Lucky Star

Strengths: 1. Delicious food: According to multiple comments, Lucky Star is known for serving delicious food. People have praised the taste and quality of their dishes, particularly the beef and pork which are described as tender and flavorful. 2. Generous meat portions: A customer mentioned that Lucky Star is generous with the meat content in their dishes. This could be seen as a strength as it provides value for money and satisfies customers who enjoy meat-based meals. 3. Good service: Several comments mention the excellent service provided by Lucky Star, from ordering to delivery. This is seen as a positive aspect, as prompt and efficient service enhances the overall dining experience.
Weaknesses: 1. Inconsistent food quality: One comment expresses disappointment with the takeaway, stating that the duck was hard and dry while the noodles were swimming in oil. This inconsistency in food quality can be seen as a significant weakness, as it can lead to dissatisfaction and a lack of trust in the establishment. 2. Poor cooking techniques: Another comment mentions that the prawn toast was soggy and greasy, and the chips were undercooked. This implies a lack of attention to detail and improper cooking techniques. Customers value crispy and well-cooked dishes, so this weakness can negatively impact the experience and perception of Lucky Star. 3. Inedible food: A customer reported that their takeaway from Lucky Star was inedible. They criticized the soggy prawn toast, undercooked chips, and flavorless sweet and sour chicken and beef dish. This is a significant weakness as it indicates a lack of consistency and attention to flavor and quality. Customers who encounter such experiences are unlikely to return or recommend the establishment to others. 4. Long delivery time: One comment expresses frustration with the long delivery time, waiting for over an hour and twenty minutes for their order to arrive. This could be seen as a weakness as customers generally expect timely delivery, and delays can negatively impact the overall experience and perception of the restaurant. 5. Limited options for non-vegetarians: One customer was disappointed to find out that the order they received was vegetarian when they had intended to order meat-based dishes. This suggests that the restaurant might have a limited supply of meat, which can be considered a weakness for customers who prefer non-vegetarian options. It may also indicate poor communication or misunderstanding between the restaurant and the customer.
Overall, while Lucky Star has strengths such as delicious food, generous meat portions, and good service, they also have weaknesses including inconsistent food quality, poor cooking techniques, inedible food, long delivery times, and limited options for non-vegetarians. Addressing these weaknesses would be crucial for the restaurant to improve customer satisfaction and maintain a positive reputation.

Best TL Reviews

Bought take away yesterday. Hadn't realised we had ordered vegetarian. Oh, no we didn't. Meat was in short supply. Pretty disappointed. Won't return.
In our opinion the best Chinese takeaway in Selby.
The food is always delicious and the size of the portions great. The service from ordering to delivery is excellent - and nearly on time but the wait is worth it.
Well done Lucky Star - you are the tops!!!!!
Our meal was so disappointing! The duck was rock hard and dry and noodles were swimming in oil!
After reading the good reviews I thought I would give it a try and to be honest I wasn't impressed. The prawn toast was soggy and greasy, the chips could have done with a few more minutes in the pan. The curry was ok and the ribs ok.
Have used Lucky Star around 4-5 times over the last year or so, and the food has always been spot on. They are very generous with the meat content in their dishes, and the beef and pork in particular is lovely and tender. Definitely recommended.
I don't like to be negative about places but had a takeaway from here last Saturday and it was inedible. 1hr 20 minutes to arrive then when it did the prawn toast was soggy and sat in a plastic tub of oil, the chips were undercooked. The sweet and sour chicken and beef dish we had for main was ok but had no flavour. I won't ever eat here again. Really was not impressed!
Always good food from here, not had a bad one yet.
Well this has got to be the worst Chinese I’ve ever had chips under cooked beef curry was in a small container not like you get from other Chinese takeaways half the size .spring rolls were under cooked not crispy like they should be disappointed is not the word felt cheated tbh
