Quick Facts About M and S

M and S Place, located in Hedge End, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. This analysis will explore these aspects in detail.
Starting with the strengths of M and S Place, the shop floor is praised as being modern and tidy with decent stock. This is a positive factor as it creates a pleasant shopping experience for customers. Additionally, the store is said to have a great selection of foods, particularly the hot stands and bakery section. This emphasizes the quality and variety of food available, attracting customers who appreciate good food options. The availability of different sizes and ranges is also mentioned, showcasing the store's effort to cater to various customer needs.
Another strength highlighted by a commenter is the convenience of M and S Place being located next to Sainsbury's. This proximity allows customers to do all their shopping in one visit, which is beneficial for those seeking a convenient shopping experience. Furthermore, the availability of free parking is mentioned positively, making it easier for customers to access the store.
Moving on to the weaknesses of M and S Place, the most consistent complaint is about the cafe. Several customers mention slow service, poor food quality, expensive prices, dirty tables, and inconvenient staff. These negative aspects significantly impact the overall perception of M and S Place. The cafe is seen as a letdown, leading some customers to advise others to eat elsewhere before visiting the store. This indicates a clear area for improvement for M and S Place to enhance the dining experience for their customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the absence of certain items, such as the 2-inch longer shirts. This implies that there might be some inconsistency in stock availability, potentially affecting customer satisfaction. Additionally, while the store is described as nice and clean, there is a suggestion that the non-food sections of the store may not be as impressive as the food hall. This indicates a need for improvement in these areas to match the high standards of the food section.
In terms of pricing, while one commenter mentions the food is not cheap, it is important to note that M and S is generally positioned as a higher-end retailer, and thus, higher prices are to be expected. Nonetheless, this may be a weakness for customers seeking more affordable options.
Overall, M and S Place has several strengths, such as a modern and tidy shop floor, a great selection of foods, availability of different sizes and ranges, and convenient location next to Sainsbury's. However, it also has weaknesses, including a disappointing cafe experience, inconsistent stock availability, and potential disparities between the food and non-food sections of the store. These weaknesses should be addressed to enhance customer satisfaction and maintain a positive reputation.

With M&S you’d expect a pleasant and easy experience but instead, I found the contrary, the two stars is for the shop floor, very modern and tidy with decent stock but the absent 3 stars is for the shoddy cafe.
Ridiculously slow service, poor food quality, expensive, dirty tables and inconvenient staff. Absolutely appalling, just use this location for its store, make sure you’ve eaten before visiting.
Nice clean and tidy, great selection of foods. The hot stands are lovely. Try the pizza ????
Value for money & new lines are excellent for women's clothes.
Really nice store this, food clothing, furniture, cafe what more could you want, almost forgot free parking.
They have a reasonable stock of different sizes and ranges to pick from. (Although they've stopped stocking the 2 inch longer shirts). Next to Sainsbury's, so you could do some shopping on the same visit, they have a small range of clothes as well.
A superstore next to Sainsbury’s in Hedge End just off J7 of the M27.
Has basically everything that M&S has to offer under one roof.
Obviously the food hall is popular but like all places it’s not cheap.
Oodles of parking, disabled bays, kids parking & charge points.
Not just any M&S but M&S Hedge End M&S.
Food Hall is top notch for appearance and content. Bakery section highly recommended. Grind your own coffee and fill your rice jars etc as well. It's all here.
This shop really has pulled its socks up since the foodhall revamp. There’s now a Clark’s shoe shop in store, easier online order pickup and the staff really have improved too. The only thing I’d say now is the rest of the store needs a revamp to match the amazing foodhall.
