Quick Facts About Somerset Wagon
The Somerset Wagon Place has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. Firstly, many customers highlight the quality of the food. One customer mentions that their Sunday lunch was "yummy" and that the roast potatoes were nice and crispy. Another customer describes their meal as a "fantastic meal with family and friends" and comments that everyone's food was of top quality. This indicates that the Somerset Wagon Place consistently delivers delicious meals that customers enjoy.
Another strength of the Somerset Wagon Place is the portion sizes. One customer mentions that the portions are good-sized and another customer notes that there is an option for up to six meats on a plate for a roast dinner. This reflects a generous serving size, which is likely to satisfy hungry customers.
The reasonable prices are another strength of the Somerset Wagon Place. The customer who mentioned the six meats option also notes that the meal was of good value for money. This implies that customers can enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. Additionally, another customer mentions that the kids' meals were a little expensive at £9.50 each, but adds that the quality was good so they didn't mind too much. This suggests that the overall pricing at the Somerset Wagon Place is generally fair.
Customers also appreciate the friendly service at the Somerset Wagon Place. One customer describes a "lovely lady" serving them and notes that nothing was too much trouble for her. This indicates that the staff go out of their way to ensure a positive dining experience for their customers.
The pub's atmosphere is also highlighted as a strength. One customer mentions that the pub has a nice chilled atmosphere with unobtrusive music playing in the background. Another customer mentions that the pub garden is nice and sunny, providing a pleasant outdoor space for customers to enjoy. These positive comments suggest that the Somerset Wagon Place offers a welcoming and enjoyable environment for customers to relax and unwind.
However, alongside these strengths, there are a few weaknesses that customers have pointed out. One customer mentions that the kids' meals were a little expensive, which could be seen as a disadvantage to families looking for a more affordable option. Additionally, this customer mentions that there were a couple of burnt roast potatoes, indicating that there may be occasional quality inconsistencies in the food.
Another weakness highlighted by a customer is the lack of a menu on each table. They mention that they missed the board on the way in and noticed that a couple of other tables also got up to look for the menu. This suggests that the lack of easily accessible menus may be inconvenient for customers and could potentially lead to confusion or frustration.
Another potential weakness, although not directly related to the dining experience, is the occasional closure of the kitchen due to staff shortages. One customer mentions that when they visited in the evening, the kitchen was closed. While this is understandable considering the circumstances, it is worth noting that this may cause disappointment for customers who were specifically looking forward to enjoying a meal at the Somerset Wagon Place.
In conclusion, the Somerset Wagon Place has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation, including the quality of the food, good-sized portions, reasonable prices, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, it also has a few weaknesses, such as potentially expensive kids' meals, occasional quality inconsistencies, a lack of easily accessible menus, and the occasional closure of the kitchen due to staff shortages. Overall, the strengths of the Somerset Wagon Place seem to outweigh its weaknesses, making it a popular choice for many customers.

Went today for Sunday lunch and it was yummy. Only 2 minor things, kids meals were a little expensive £9.50 each if I remember correctly but the quality was good so didn't mind too much. And a couple of burnt roast spuds, how ever there were plenty so didn't mind too much.
If I was being picky then a menu on the table would help as we missed the board on the way in and a couple of the other tables also all got up to look.
All round a good experience and we will be back.
An outlandish amount of gravy and an option for up to six (yes that's right, SIX!) meats on your plate for roast dinner. Nice roasties, crispy yorkshires and all for reasonable price. No complaints. Will be back.
A wonderful lunch time celebration meal for 6 persons went fabulously well. Good sized portions, cooked fresh and a good selection of drinks.
Really great experience lovely lady serving use nothing to much trouble for her will definitely go again great tasty food, value for money.
We walked to this pub for a drink in the evening. It was very friendly with a range of soft and alcoholic drinks available. Nice chilled atmosphere with unobtrusive music, which was really good. Food is served but due to some staff shortages the kitchen was closed the day we went so best to check before going to see if it is open. The menu looked great though and better value for money than another pub nearby.
The first visit since the pub was refurbished and reopened. There were seven of us for lunch and everyone genuinely enjoyed the food. Fresh and well presented with a friendly service. Happily recommend.
Very friendly, popped in here after a sunny bike ride on the Mendips. The pub garden out the front is nice and sunny and there is space to keep an eye on your bikes and enjoy a pint in the sun. Glad this place is still going as it's a great traditional pub.
