Quick Facts About Spice Hut Camden
Spice Hut Camden place has received a mix of positive and negative comments, which provide insights into its strengths and weaknesses. Let's analyze them to understand the various aspects of the restaurant.
Starting with the strengths, one customer mentions that the Spice Hut shatkora lamb doner is their all-time favorite takeaway food. This suggests that the restaurant excels in preparing this specific dish, making it a standout item on their menu. Another positive aspect highlighted is the friendliness of the staff and the clean environment of the place. These factors contribute to creating a welcoming and hygienic dining experience for customers.
Additionally, the comments mention that the food consistently meets expectations and hits the spot for customers. This indicates that the Spice Hut maintains a certain level of quality in their dishes, ensuring customer satisfaction. The comment about the gentleman providing excellent service and managing the place well demonstrates that the restaurant has attentive and competent staff members.
Now let's discuss the weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer noticed a significant difference in taste and quality compared to their previous experience at a different branch of Spice Hut. They found the chilli and tomato sauce to be watered down, which suggests a potential inconsistency in the preparation of sauces at this particular location. Another customer mentioned that the fries were hard and dried out, lacking moisture. These instances imply that there might be variations in the cooking and food preparation processes.
Furthermore, a customer expressed disappointment in the overall taste of the food, finding the flavors overpowering and ending up throwing half of it away. This raises concerns about the consistency and balance of flavors in some of the dishes and indicates a potential area of improvement for the restaurant.
One comment highlights that the drink selection needs improvement. This suggests that the current range of beverage options might not be diverse or satisfactory for some customers. Expanding the drink selection could enhance the overall dining experience.
Additionally, a customer had a negative experience where they received a poorly made chicken fillet burger and chips. The chips were described as being fried in old oil, and the ketchup and mayonnaise were deemed of low quality. This indicates potential lapses in the quality control and sourcing of ingredients, leading to a subpar dining experience.
Another customer mentioned concerns about the hygiene rating of the restaurant, as they discovered a two-star rating and reports of pest infestations. This raises significant concerns regarding food safety and cleanliness. Ensuring a clean and pest-free environment is crucial for maintaining the reputation and trust of customers.
In conclusion, Spice Hut Camden place has several strengths, including a standout dish, friendly staff, and a clean environment. However, there are weaknesses to address, such as inconsistent sauces, issues with flavors and cooking techniques, a limited drink selection, potential quality control problems, and concerns regarding hygiene. Addressing these weaknesses can help the restaurant improve and provide a better overall dining experience for its customers.

Spice Hut shatkora lamb doner is probably my all time favourite takeaway food. Glad I don't have to drive all the way to East London anymore! Clean place, friendly staff and the food hits the spot every time without fail. The only thing I will say is that the drink selection needs improving
My first time here at Camden Spice Hut, I used to go Original Spice Hut at mile end many years ago which was very nice hence why thought give this New Camden Spice Hut a visit. However, I have noticed big difference I had the Shatkora Doner with chips, The chilli and the tomato sauce both was watered down.
I am not too sure about the taste here all flavours were over powering threw half of it away. The fries looked crispy but was very hard and dried out almost no moist inside...
The gentleman who served me was polite and kind. Shame as local to me but just a huge disappointment. We all have bad days , perhaps this was one of them for the Spice Hut.
Little bit of love and effort towards making the food could take this place to new heights. just saying.
Best spice hut I've been to. The shop looks clean the food is very good. Priced a bit higher than your usual spice hut but they are based in East London with cheaper rates I guess. Worth every penny. There was a guy that served me he said his name was Fourmuj , he had great rappor with the customers and managed the place well. Defo recommend the smash burger and Doner!!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!!
This place was awful. I have never had such a bad chicken fillet burger and chips! How can you get it so horribly wrong?! The chips tasted like they’d been fried in ridiculously old oil. Never have experienced that before from any other chicken shops. Even the ketchup and Mayonnaise was rank!! It’s like someone made this food at home, and used cheap old sauces from the cupboard! Sorry but this was horrid. AVOID. Plenty of other shops you can go to! And Spice Hut need to sort out their oil changes and sauces ????
Was recommended by a friend to try spice hut, nearest one was Camden so I came. The Naga doner was so nice and the portion was big and tasty. Got two with a friend and we couldn't even finish the first 1, had to take home. The best masala fries I've had in my life. The service was amazing, he was very nice and asked us about our food as well. Cleanliness was not a problem, very clean establishment, very underrated food spot.
Out of the 100s of places i have had doner kebab from, Spice Hut is by far the best i have ever had!
The Shatkora lamb kebab was just amazing 10/10 flavour was just perfect. The creamy naga wings was just amazing! The fries was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Customer service is also 10/10 really friendly staff members, very approachable. I would definitely recommend.
Without a doubt this is the best place to get doner from in london!
Possibly the best doner wrap I've ever had
They've got something going here in Spice hut. I got the creamy naga doner wrap. That thick naan charred and chewy withstanding the donner filled inside. Donner that's been cooked in a sauce thats that good spicy way. Full of flavour but spicy enough to leave a slight numbing feeling. Crispy little chips squeezed down with garlic mayo to bring it all together. From the way the guys spoke about cooking in the back to the food provided, These guys clearly care about the food they're putting out and it shows.
Friendly service and a good price compared to some of the other places round Camden.
I used to order from here loads until one day i had mouldy pitta bread with my doner. I then done some research and saw they only have 2 star hygiene and saw a comment where they needed help with pest infestation which has really put me off ever ordering again. I hope they can sort out the pests and get a 5 star hygiene rating and maybe ill order in the future
