Quick Facts About The Honey Tree
The Honey Tree restaurant has received a mix of both positive and negative comments. In order to analyze its strengths and weaknesses, it is important to consider both perspectives.
Starting with the weaknesses, the most recurring complaint is about the poor service. Comments mention that staff members were more focused on the takeaway service, leaving the restaurant customers neglected. Service was described as atrocious, with staff failing to check if customers needed anything, such as drinks or to inquire about the quality of the food. Additionally, one customer even mentioned the sarcastic response from a waiting staff member when they expressed their dissatisfaction with the service.
Another issue raised by multiple customers is the quality of the food. Comments describe how the chips were served cold and appeared to be reheated leftovers. The size of the ribs was also criticized, with one customer claiming they had never seen such small ribs before. Two main rice dishes were deemed poor, further contributing to customer dissatisfaction. In one extreme case, a customer stated that the meal was a waste of £34.
Long waiting times were also a common complaint. Several customers expressed frustration at having to wait over an hour for their mains to be served. It was mentioned that staff did not apologize for the delay, which further added to the negative experience.
Moving on to the strengths, it is worth noting that some customers did have a positive experience at The Honey Tree. One customer described it as an excellent Chinese restaurant and mentioned that it was their go-to place for special occasions. The availability of a separate menu for gluten-free options was appreciated, indicating that the restaurant caters to different dietary needs. The quality of the food, particularly on the gluten-free menu, was praised in this comment. The overall affordability of the meal, coupled with friendly service, also received compliments.
While there is a significant number of negative comments, it is important to recognize that there are some positive reviews as well. This suggests that The Honey Tree does have the potential to provide a satisfying dining experience to certain customers. However, the consistent complaints about poor service, food quality, and long waiting times cannot be overlooked.
Based on the comments provided, the strengths of The Honey Tree lie in its menu variety, including gluten-free options, and affordability. However, its weaknesses are evident in the poor service, inconsistent food quality, and long waiting times. These aspects need improvement in order to enhance the overall customer experience and retain customers.

Food was barely warm as it was served on cold plates. Four starters arrived the fifth one arrived about 5 minutes later. The service was atrocious as all the staff were concentrating on the takeaway service. After serving the starters we waited about 1 hour for the main course, didn't ask if we would like another drink or if the food was okay. Won't be going again.
Chips were cold and looked like they were warm ups. Ribs were 1 inch in size, never seen ribs so small? 2 x main rice dishes were poor. Not happy with this meal. What a waste of £34.
We ordered 2 soups and 2 mains. We had to wait 1h 15 minutes for our mains. Not once did staff come over and apologise. When I said I would pay for what we had at the counter. One of the waiting staff said "we are busy" in a sarcastic tone what kind of service Is that. We have visited regular but never again.
Extremely disappointing! After many years of eating here, birthdays, anniversaries, high days, and holidays tonight was the worst experience ever. The current management are clueless about customer service and hospitality.
Just dreadful.
Excellent Chinese restaurant, there was a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and the takeaway side was very busy with 4 delivery drivers in and out constantly.
I was with a friend who is gluten free, there's a menu at the back just for his dietary needs. I had chicken noodle soup and he had the gluten free option. Main course I had chicken curry with boiled rice, my friend had sizzling steak in black bean sauce on a hot plate with boiled rice. We shared a nice bottle of Merlot, and the bill was very reasonably priced at just under £60.00.
Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Morecambe, definitely worth going to if you're staying in the town.
Didnt actually get to eat so can’t rate food but sat at a table for 20 minutes without a menu or a drink whilst staff ran around sweating and flustering. Wasnt a particularly busy evening but appeared to be zero focus on restaurant whilst take away orders were being given priority
No complaints!
Food was tasty...even the gluten free menu amazingly.
Service was good and people friendly.
Waitress was a bit stressed but I could see she was trying her best, what more can you ask for?
Don't be put off by negative reviews on Google.
Absolutely terrible , Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and chips. Both chips and chicken balls were hard and dried out, just like they'd been cooked the day before and heated up. Couldn't eat went straight in the bin. Avoid.
