Quick Facts About The Mill Coffee Shop
The Mill Coffee Shop has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, it is described as an interesting and historical old mill, which adds to its charm and appeal. The fact that there is plenty of space inside and outside to have a bite or just a coffee is another strength, as it allows for a comfortable and enjoyable experience for customers. The presence of well-behaved dogs adds to the ambiance and creates a welcoming atmosphere for pet owners.
The quality of the food and drinks at The Mill Coffee Shop is consistently commended in the comments. Specific menu items, such as the chicken and avocado toasties, are described as delicious, and the fact that everything is handmade and of exquisite quality is highly valued. The portion sizes are also noted to be generous, further adding to the value for money.
Another strength of The Mill Coffee Shop is the free parking available, which is appreciated by customers. The presence of public pathways surrounding the cafe allows for the opportunity for a nice walk, which is another positive element of the location. Additionally, the presence of a picnic area and playground for kids is mentioned as a positive aspect, making the cafe suitable for families.
The staff at The Mill Coffee Shop are consistently described as polite, cheerful, attentive, and friendly. The fact that the coffee is locally roasted and the cakes are baked by a local independent bakers is also seen as a positive, as it supports local businesses and adds to the authenticity of the cafe.
The dog-friendly nature of the cafe is mentioned multiple times as a strength, but there are a few weaknesses associated with this. One comment mentions that the gaps between tables are so narrow that it was difficult to move a pushchair along. This suggests that the layout of the cafe may not be entirely accommodating for families with young children or those needing extra space for mobility aids.
Another weakness mentioned is the quality of the hot drinks, with one customer stating that they were not great. While the food is consistently praised, it seems that the coffee may not be up to the same standard, according to this customer's experience. This could be an area for improvement for the cafe.
Overall, The Mill Coffee Shop has many strengths, such as its interesting and historic location, ample space, dog-friendly policy, delicious handmade food, competitive prices, free parking, and friendly staff. However, there are a few weaknesses, including potentially cramped table arrangements and inconsistencies in the quality of the hot drinks. These weaknesses should be addressed to ensure that every aspect of the customer experience meets the high standards set by the cafe.

Interesting and historical old mill.
There is plenty of space inside and outside to have a bite or just a coffee.
We went there because it is dog friendly and we loved the place!
We had two chicken and avocado toasties for breakfast and were delicious.
The 2 toasties, 2 latte and 2 pies, were 31 pounds well deserved as everything is exquisite and handmade. The quantity is also really good.
The place was full of well-behaved dogs.
Parking is free, and you can find lots of public pathways around to have a nice walk with your best buddy ????.
We will come back!

What transformation the Mill has had ,very relaxed and well thought out renovation of the coffee shop with modern touches which compliment the historic mill building. The coffee is fantastic and the staff are very friendly and attentive, there is plenty of parking and routes to walk around the village and by the river. The coffee is roasted locally and the cakes are baked by a local independent bakers too,I’m looking forward to the kitchen opening in the near future.
I thoroughly recommend a visit
Beautiful place to walk with the dogs, boots and paws welcomed at the mill cafe. Food yummy, service excellent, coffee very nice too, reasonably piced aswell.Would highly recommend.
My favourite café in Bedford - the coffee is amazing, that alone would keep me coming back. But the sweet treats are also incredible, and they haven't got a huge food menu but everything I've had off there is delicious, quality over quantity. Perfect place for lunch. Also very kid friendly, plenty of high chairs and a baby changing toilet.
Went there at lunchtime for some coffees and cheese toasties along with some cake. The food was fine and no complaints but the hot drinks were not great I am afraid.
Service was quite quick and friendly enough. Baby change and toilets very close by but be careful of the water in wash basin as very hot!
Gaps between tables are so narrow that it was difficult to move a pushchair along.
I love the quaint environment as completely different to something like Costa.
All in all I would go again but wouldn't get the same hot drinks as I did last time.
Thought I had left a review but I had left an update??? Food was excellent, staff were to. Parking was plentiful, lovely peaceful location for a lunch. Was quite busy but there are so many tables inside and out that you couldn’t tell. There is also a little kids adventure playground as well. Recommended and will return.
Great visit to The Mill Coffee Shop this afternoon!! Great to see some veggie and vegan treats on the counter, and milk alternatives covered ???????? Love how they've styled the place, will be coming back
