Quick Facts About The Old Copper Kettle
The Old Copper Kettle has several strengths that make it a popular and enjoyable place to visit. One of its main strengths is its location in the heart of the historical town of Crowland. Being situated in such a charming and traditional town adds to the overall atmosphere and appeal of the tea shop. Additionally, the varied menu is another strength of the place. With a range of options available, customers have the opportunity to try different dishes and find something that suits their taste preferences.
Another strength of The Old Copper Kettle is the friendly service provided by the staff. The team is praised for their welcoming and accommodating nature, which enhances the overall dining experience. This is evident in various comments, such as the one that mentions meeting the owners and describing them as lovely and welcoming people.
The tea shop also receives positive feedback for their outside catering services. The comment about the magnificent afternoon tea provided for a family event showcases the quality and attention to detail in their catering offerings. From the homemade sandwiches and sausage rolls to the delicious scones and cakes, it is evident that The Old Copper Kettle takes pride in delivering tasty and visually appealing food for special occasions.
Another strength highlighted by a comment is the homemade coffee and walnut cake. The fact that it is made on the premises adds to the authenticity and quality of the baked goods. This suggests that The Old Copper Kettle puts effort into producing homemade treats that customers can enjoy.
Despite its many strengths, The Old Copper Kettle does have a few weaknesses. One customer mentions being disappointed with the coffee, finding it to lack flavor and strength. This suggests that there might be inconsistencies in the quality of their coffee, which can be a drawback for coffee enthusiasts or those who prioritize a good cup of joe.
Another comment mentions a negative experience with the soup. The customer was expecting cheese and broccoli soup but received vegetable soup instead. This demonstrates a potential weakness in their attention to detail and accuracy in delivering orders. While it could be attributed to a bad day or time, it is still important for a food establishment to consistently provide what is advertised on their menu.
In conclusion, The Old Copper Kettle is a popular tea shop with several strengths that make it an enjoyable place to visit. Its location in the historical town of Crowland, varied menu, friendly service, and outside catering services are all strengths that have been positively commented on. We were on a photography outing in the Crowland area and popped in to The Old Copper Kettle because it looked nice. Enjoyed coffee with some scones, cream and jam. It was really nice and I will visit again.
This is a lovely traditional town tea shop in the heart of the historical town of Crowland.
With a varied menu and friendly service is well worth a visit.
Tracey and her team from The Copper Kettle provided outside catering at a recent family event. They cooked and served a magnificent afternoon tea which looked stunning and tasted amazing. The homemade sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes were delicious and our guests appreciated the unlimited tea and coffee. They provided stands, table cloths and vintage crockery. They set up the event beautifully and washed up and tidied away thoughtfully. Everyone who attended was impressed, especially those who had specific dietary requirements. Thank you Tracey. I would definitely book The Copper Kettle again.
We dropped in for a quick drink and and a cake today, and the homemade coffee and walnut cake was delicious (homemade on the premises too).
We love the Copper Kettle but I’ve had to drop a couple of stars due to the coffee, we ordered a couple of americanos but they had no flavour and tasted really weak.
First time been there after hearing how nice it is. Arrived 14 30. Bit busy for Mon waited a while to be seated. Ordered soup. On board listed cheese and broccoli but had veg soup as no cheese and broccoli.
Partner had cheese scone with cheese.
Soup was not nice at all. Added pepper. Added partners cheese. Still not nice. Left it. Never left food for as long as I can remember.
Informed at the till. He apologised. Still charged.
Very disappointed. Lovely place.
Perhaps a bad day or time.
Amazing local business!! Met the owners tonight and I have to say what lovely and welcoming people they are !
Me and the Mrs had the pleasure of dining in , food and drink was very well served and pricing was incredibly competitive!
Would defo recommend a visit ,we will be returning for sure !
What a gem of a little place! We booked a visit as they were doing the Eat Out To Help Out government initiative.
We had to make do with the sofa area as it was the last space available but we knew this when booking. This area is in the conservatory area and is a large three seater, not a 'small sofa' as one of the previous reviews mentions. Plenty of room for us two and a gap in the middle. This conservatory area is a decent size and one of the tables is not for use meaning that there is good space between them.
We ordered an afternoon tea for two. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, especially the thick hand cut ham, and the scones were lovely. We opted for a slice of cake rather than the small cakes and the caramel cake was tasty.
Staff were really friendly despite being rushed off their feet due to the offer. We had to wait to order and then a short wait for food but that was to be expected and didn't bother us at all. If it does bother you to wait, probably best to not go to a small tea room when an offer like this is going on. They are doing their best and are doing it well. It's hard and unusual times for all at the moment.
Details were taken and hand sanitiser available for customers to use.
Now I've found it, I'll be back for sure.
Lovely food and nice friendly people ????????????????????????????????????
