Quick Facts About The Teahouse

The Teahouse, recently reopened as Claremont Teahouse, has received both positive and negative comments from its customers. These comments help us understand the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
Starting with the strengths, many customers noted that the staff are pleasant and friendly. This is a crucial aspect of providing good customer service and contributes to a positive dining experience. The positive comments also mention that the food at The Teahouse is great, indicating that the quality and taste of the dishes are highly regarded. Additionally, the tea selection is described as wide and varied, which is a positive aspect for tea enthusiasts looking for new and interesting flavors. Lastly, the location being well suited for shopping is also seen as an advantage, attracting customers who may be interested in combining their tea experience with a shopping trip.
However, there are some weaknesses that have been highlighted as well. One of the most significant negative comments mentions the poor service. The customer claims to have visited multiple times and each time their order was incorrect. This is a major issue as it indicates a lack of attention to detail and potentially a lack of training for the staff. Another negative comment indicates that the teahouse is always busy, leading to long waits for seating and service. This can frustrate customers and may even deter potential customers from entering the establishment.
On the other hand, some positive comments refute this criticism of poor service, stating that the staff are super friendly despite the busyness of the place. These comments suggest that the staff may be trying their best to provide good service but are perhaps overwhelmed by the high volume of customers. Additionally, a positive comment mentions that the coffee and food are amazing, which contradicts the negative comments about poor service and incorrect orders.
In terms of customer experience, one negative comment describes an unfortunate incident where the customer and their sister were kicked out by the manager in order to accommodate a larger group. The customer expresses disappointment and suggests that the manager's decision to remove them was unwarranted, leading to embarrassment and upset. This negative comment implies that the management may need to improve their customer handling and communication skills.
Other positive comments highlight the great range of teas and gluten-free options for lunch, the cozy and comfortable atmosphere, and the attentive service. These comments indicate that the establishment has a lot of potential and can offer a positive experience for customers.
In conclusion, The Teahouse, now known as Claremont Teahouse, has received both positive and negative comments. While there are strengths such as pleasant staff, great food, a wide tea selection, and a well-suited location for shopping, there are also weaknesses like poor service, long waits, and potential customer handling issues. The establishment has the opportunity to address these weaknesses and build on their strengths to provide a consistently positive experience for their customers.

Positives:
Staff are pleasant
Food is great
Tea selection wide and varied
Location is well suited for shopping
Negatives:
Really poor service - like really poor. I've been several times, and not once has anyone had the correct order. So much so that we've decided not to go for the next month or two and hope that it improves.
Partially as a result of slow and incorrect orders the teahouse is always busy and I've saw people decide to leave before being seated and/or served due to the waits incurred.
Amazing coffee and food, plus great atmosphere and service. Super friendly staff despite how busy it is. Can't hold how busy it is against them when they've only just opened and they haven't opened downstairs yet.
I was excited to see QB has rebranded and reopened but unfortunately my experience today was regretful. My sister and I ordered a breakfast option and two teas. As we sat, the tea house slowly filled up which is to be expected. What I didn’t expect was to be kicked out roughly an hour later by the manager when a group of 3 came in looking for a table. Bear in mind, we were not the first people to arrive, I still intended to order more tea and we were a party of two at a small table near the entrance. If the manager was so intent on creating space, it would’ve made more sense to request a group of 4 (there were 2 which had been there longer than us) to leave— although of course, I don’t condone kicking anyone out. People at the tea house are accustomed to waiting and it’s perfectly acceptable to tell people a wait time too. I told the manager I intended to order again and she insisted that people were only allowed to stay for an hour and a half (a completely made up rule I’ve never heard of for a tea house— and besides we weren’t forewarned of this when we were first seated). From the beginning she had very stand off-ish energy and was patrolling the tea house much more like a bodyguard than a manager. I’m not sure if there was an element of discrimination in her decision to remove us but either way the experience was embarrassing and upsetting. I will say, the tea itself was excellent and the rest of the staff were lovely.
Great range of teas and some gluten free options for lunch. Nice building and friendly staff.
Not impressed at all this morning the person who greeted us told us to sit on the window sill in an very unfriendly manner. We could see an empty table but after waiting around 7 mins we were still left waiting so decided to leave. So our future custom is lost.
We were sat downstairs which was very cozy and comfortable. Great service. Both got the pulled beef sandwich (pictured) it was incredible! So juicy, tender and delicious, came with yummy potatoes and a lovely salad. It was well worth the price, great price. Got the Christmas tea (in April) and it was so fruity, comforting and yummy, really recommend it. The homemade baked cheesecake was yummy also. Fully recommend this place for food and a huge selection of teas. Very cozy and relaxed place.
Such a cosy wee place! I loved spending time there on my last trip to Newcastle. Such a wide range of gorgeous teas available and they brew them for you! You never have to worry about your tea being to strong or too weak.
The decor instead is beautiful and it has such a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I can't wait to go back
Oooh lovely place for cup (or a few cups) of tea. They have over 60 different teas, differently flavoured. Some have a strong smell, some have a strong taste, some have both. Reading the menu takes so long because they have detailed descriptions of the teas. This place is usually crowded, enough to make you wait for some time. Which is totally worth it after you try the tea.
I tried At least 7 teas and loved the jasmine and hazelnut/vanilla tea.
Definitely visit this place if you're in Newcastle.
