Quick Facts About The Thames Shopping Centre

The Thames Shopping Centre has a few strengths that make it a worthwhile visit. Firstly, there is a good tattoo place inside with a great artist. This can be convenient for individuals who want to get a tattoo on the spot without booking an appointment, as long as it is not busy. This can be a major advantage for those who are spontaneous or visiting the area and don't have the time to schedule an appointment in advance. Additionally, the tattoo place is not too expensive, making it accessible for people with different budgets.
Another strength of the Thames Shopping Centre is the presence of a good charity shop. Charity shops are often popular among bargain hunters or individuals who want to support a good cause while shopping. Having a charity shop in the shopping centre can attract customers and contribute to a sense of community.
Furthermore, the presence of a pet shop in the Thames Shopping Centre is also considered a positive aspect. Pet shops are a draw for pet owners and animal lovers, as it provides an opportunity to purchase pet supplies or adopt a new furry friend. This can be a great addition to the shopping centre, as it caters to a specific audience and adds variety to the range of stores available.
In terms of customer experience, the shopping centre is described as clean and tidy. This can be a significant strength, as a clean environment creates a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. It can contribute to an overall positive shopping experience and make customers more likely to return.
Additionally, the shopping centre is said to have friendly staff, which is always an asset. Friendly and helpful staff can enhance the customer experience and make visitors feel welcomed and valued. This can create a positive reputation for the shopping centre and encourage repeat visits.
However, the Thames Shopping Centre also has several weaknesses that should be addressed. One comment mentions that the centre is quite empty, with just a handful of shops inside. This suggests a lack of diversity and variety in the selection of stores. A thriving shopping centre usually offers a wide range of options to cater to different customers' preferences, which may contribute to higher foot traffic and satisfaction.
Another weakness mentioned is the fact that the shopping centre is described as dark and dated. A well-lit and modern environment is often more appealing and inviting to shoppers, and being dark and dated might deter potential visitors. It may be worth investing in renovations and improvements to create a more visually appealing and up-to-date shopping centre.
Additionally, accessibility seems to be an issue. One comment mentions that the customer cannot get up the ramp to get to the hairdressers, and another mentions that the lift is not always working. This can be a major inconvenience for customers with mobility issues or individuals with strollers or wheelchairs. Accessibility is an essential aspect of any shopping centre, and addressing these issues should be a priority for the owners.
One comment refers to the roundabout with its flowerbeds and Union flag that used to be an iconic feature but has been replaced by what is described as a miserable eyesore with a cabbage patch pub. This suggests that the new additions or renovations made to the shopping centre may not be appreciated by all customers. It is important for the owners of the shopping centre to carefully consider any changes or additions to maintain or improve its attractiveness to visitors.
Despite these weaknesses, there are still some positive aspects that make the Thames Shopping Centre worth a visit. The presence of a cafe, a butchers, and a barbers, along with the few charity shops and pet shop, creates a small but diverse selection of stores. This can provide visitors with some options for shopping or grabbing a bite to eat. Additionally, having benches throughout the centre allows visitors to take a break and rest if needed.
One comment specifically mentions the Thames Diner as a definite place to visit if looking for a good quality and reasonably priced eatery. This positive feedback can attract food enthusiasts and contribute to the shopping centre's reputation as a place to find good food at affordable prices.
In conclusion, the Thames Shopping Centre has strengths such as a good tattoo place, a charity shop, and a pet shop. The centre is described as clean and tidy, with friendly staff. However, there are weaknesses such as a lack of shops, a dark and dated environment, accessibility issues, and potential controversies regarding changes to the centre. Despite these weaknesses, the presence of a cafe, few shops, and the Thames Diner can still make the shopping centre a worthwhile visit for some individuals.

The iconic roundabout with its beautiful flowerbeds and union flag flying proud from the 60s and 70s that I recall fondly... Now replaced by this miserable eyesore with it's cabbage patch pub.
Shops rubbish, cannot get up the ramp to get to hairdressers shocking. Lift not always working. Owners of Town Centre are a disgrace.
