In addition to the food, the staff at the Tickled Trout Cafe are repeatedly described as lovely, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The fact that they are dog-friendly is also seen as a positive attribute, as it allows visitors to bring their furry friends along. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the cafe is often praised for being comfortable, charming, rustic, and relaxed, creating a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.
Another strength of the Tickled Trout Cafe is its location and surrounding environment. The cafe is situated in a beautiful spot, as described by customers, and is complemented by the presence of a fishery inside, adding to the overall atmosphere. The historic building that houses the cafe is seen as a unique and attractive feature, which adds to the appeal for visitors. Customers appreciate the effort and love that has been put into the business, and this is evident in their positive comments.
A unique aspect of the Tickled Trout Cafe that is highlighted in one of the comments is the presence of a stream and a grated bridge connecting the cafe to the bathrooms. In terms of weaknesses, there are relatively few comments that could be construed as negative or critical. However, one comment mentions that the seating is mainly biased towards tables of four, which can make it difficult to find a seat during busy times. This could be seen as a potential weakness for those visiting in larger groups or during peak hours. However, the comment also mentions that patience pays off, suggesting that the seating situation is manageable.
Another comment highlights a potential issue with the floor of the bathroom, which is made of metal mesh. While it provides an interesting feature, small items could potentially fall through and be lost forever. While this is a minor concern, it is worth noting as a potential weakness in terms of practicality.
In conclusion, the Tickled Trout Cafe appears to have many strengths that contribute to its popularity. The delicious food, excellent value, friendly staff, charming atmosphere, and unique features such as the fishery and bridge all contribute to a positive dining experience. While there are minor potential weaknesses such as limited seating options and the potential for items to be lost in the bathroom floor, overall, the strengths of the Tickled Trout Cafe outweigh any weaknesses, making it a highly recommended spot for visitors.

Wow. What a splendid spot. The high rating on Google Maps is very well deserved. The food is great, excellent value and arrived at the double. Service is great too - the two ladies who served me were _lovely_. I shall definitely be back next time I'm in the area...
Pro tip 1: the seating is biased towards tables of 4, so it can fill (end empty) very quickly. Your patience will pay off.
Pro tip 2: if you head to the bathroom, be careful not to drop anything whilst crossing the stream (you'll have to find out for yourself...) as the 'floor' is metal mesh and small items could go straight through, never to be seen again...
Absolutely beautiful wee cafe..food was delicious and well presented. Trout pate was amazing. The staff were lovely and attentive.
The part of the The fishery inside the cafe was very well done and added to the atmosphere.
We even got the story of how the cafe was started.
Clearly a lot of hard work, dedication and pure love has been put into this lovely business ❤️
One of the loveliest and charming cafes I’ve ever been too. Dog friendly and beautiful set up. Had the trout pate, breakfast sandwich, and hot chocolate.
Went with a friend for a wee bite.
We had amazing food, a gorgeous smoothie, cappuccinos and probably the best cake I ever had: a ginger slice and an orange and raspberry loaf.
Not to mention the very friendly staff and comfy atmosphere. Oh, and Tess, the dog has a very warm welcome too plus treats.
We will definitely be back!
The food is good, the cafe interior full of charm and the patina of age, the outdoor and indoor seating rustic and the staff friendly and engaging - but oddly enough, the highlight was going to the toilets.
A lade (we think this is the right term) runs through the old water wheel room separating the cafe and bathrooms, and this is spanned by an open grated bridge that lets you see the young troutlets swimming up stream. We were engrossed by the struggle of these minnows and I know my kids would absolutely love it.
Tickled pink by the Tickled Trout, amazing historic building with tasty food and friendly staff. Dog and cyclist friendly. Thanks for the tour Jenny.
Been here a few times for breakfast and lunch. Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Good variety on menu and everything freshly made. Reasonably priced and service not long.
Also they welcome dogs.
Absolutely loved relaxing country ambience of the place. Super dog friendly and generally friendly service.
Great coffee and fresh orange juice (nice and cold withoutice dilutingit). Smoked trout pate with oatcakes was surprisingly good (I'm not a big fan of fish as a pate but it was delightfully light without overpowering spices).
I even managed to get some hot smoked trout (frozen) to take home. You can call day in advance to order it for next day.
Worth making small detour if you're passing Perth!
