Quick Facts About Toms fish & chips

Tom's fish & chips place appears to have several strengths based on the comments. Firstly, the small business seems to have a strong reputation in the Wigan area, with people at the bus stop highly recommending it and the commenter being glad they stopped there. This indicates that the place has a good standing within the local community and has established itself as a reliable and popular option for fish and chips.
Another strength highlighted by multiple comments is the quality of the food. One commenter describes the chips as the "best chips" they've ever tasted, praising their creaminess and lack of greasiness. Additionally, there are positive mentions of the fish being freshly cooked, not greasy, and tasty. These comments suggest that Tom's fish & chips place pays attention to the quality and preparation of their food, which is an important factor for a successful fish and chip shop.
Customer service also appears to be a strength of this establishment. The lads serving are described as providing "1st class" service, and both Ella and Tom are mentioned positively for their welcoming and friendly attitudes. This indicates that the staff strive to create a positive dining experience for their customers and contribute to the overall positive impression of the place.
Cleanliness is another strength mentioned by a commenter who highlights the five-star hygiene rating awarded to Tom's fish & chips place. This shows that the business maintains good standards of cleanliness and food safety, which is an important factor for customers when choosing a place to eat.
Additionally, the comment about the business being willing to adjust to keep a customer happy indicates a willingness to accommodate customer needs and resolve any issues that may arise. This demonstrates good customer service and a commitment to ensuring a positive experience for patrons.
However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments as well. One commenter found the food to be greasy and did not understand the hype surrounding the place. This suggests that there may be inconsistency in the food quality or personal preferences that may not align with everyone's taste.
Another comment mentions that the curry was a bit thin, which suggests that there may be room for improvement in the sauces or condiments offered. This could impact the overall experience for some customers who enjoy flavorful and well-textured accompaniments with their fish and chips.
Lastly, it is mentioned that the staff appeared to be miserable on a particular night. While this could be an isolated incident or a temporary issue, it does indicate that there may be inconsistency in the customer service experience, as other comments highlighted positive experiences with the staff. It would be important for the business to address any issues with staff attitude to ensure consistent and friendly service.
In conclusion, Tom's fish & chips place has several strengths such as a good reputation, quality food, friendly customer service, cleanliness, and a willingness to accommodate customer needs. However, there are also a few weaknesses related to greasiness in some food items, potential inconsistency in taste preferences, and occasional poor customer service experiences. Overall, the comments suggest that Tom's fish & chips place is a popular and well-regarded establishment in Wigan, but there is room for improvement in certain areas to ensure a consistently positive dining experience for all customers.

After working in Wigan today I know Wigan definately has some awesome Fish and Chip shops and stopped on my way home for a good old Wigan Pie Dinner. Glad
I chose this place. I asked people outside at the bus stop what it was like? They highly recommended this small business and after getting a Pie Dinner, so do I it was perfect and the service by the lads serving was 1st class.
Thank you glad I stopped there.
Absolutely and probably the best chips I've ever tasted, creamy potato and freshly made, not greasy and the perfect amount of little crispy chips that we all love! Still yet to try the fish but I've heard it's stuff of legend
Always friendly, food is good , hot , tasty.
I'm only giving 4 stars on account of they don't do battered sausages, but overall the chippy is worth 5 stars.
Edit: found out that they do do sausage in batter, had one tonight and loved it, so now it's full five stars
Best chippy in wigan.Very clean! Friendly staff. Definitely deserves its five start hygiene rating
It was okay, bit greasy, don't get the hype. Also staff was miserable????maybe they was having an off night
Lovely fish, freshly done, not greasy, very tasty. Curry was bit thin but tasty non-the-less , staff very friendly and pleasant. Also, chips cut to the ideal girth, don't know what Tracy A was on about, she clearly can't be trusted when it comes to chip shop reviews.
All round bang on food and taste. Nice and hot.
had a slight issue with my portion size and after speaking to the chippy via watsapp they have been terrific . they explained how they don't do certain items but are willing to adjust to keep a customer happy.
