Our visit was because we were given a voucher for christmas. I know the place from years ago when it was a working man's club. First appearance, the car park is small and uneven under foot. Climb a few steps and you enter the Bistro. I found it a little gem, quirky and cosy. We were shown to a table, we asked for another no problem, sat down left with menus to choose our meals, short while later came back for drinks order, choose a lovely bottle of Shiraz, reasonably priced, ordered the food, food came, chosen steaks came cooked to order, chips and onion rings homemade were excellent. The staff were excellent, we had an issue with one of the steaks, it was cooked to our liking it was just a query regarding type of steak. The chef came out with a joint of meat, and showed us how he cut the steak from the joint. Happy with the meal we paid and even left a tip.
Managed to get in here during a trip up to Barnsley with a friend - they managed to seat us as a walk-in without a booking, which was great. Friendly service and the Sunday roast was fantastic. Beef was melt in your mouth, highly reccomended.
Food in this Bistro is fabulous, such a varied menu. Seven on us visited and everyone was pleased with their dishes. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. There is also a snooker room at the back so anyone can play before or after dinner.
Loved this little gem of a place. Booked quite late but was offered 2 time options. Arrived and was shown to a small table for 2 in the middle of the room which was ok, but were then offered a different table closer to a window and more roomy which we accepted. Dinner was lovely, Sunday dinner and steak pie were our choices. In all honestly, the pie was too much!!! Maybe no starter next time......although the soup was to die for. Will definitely return
First time at the bistro, and I will definitely be recommending to family and friends. Steak cooked to perfection (medium/rare). Staff absolutely fantastic and couldn't have done enough for us. We'll be back soon. What an amazing team of people.

We visited with our teens last night instead of the usual busy bonfire night routine and I'm really glad we did. Nice cosy booth, lovely staff who can't do enough for you, and tasty home cooked food.we all had 3 courses and were happy and full. Perfect! Look forward to our next visit. Thanks guys!
Enjoyed beautiful food and great service as a group of 12 this evening. We ordered various different meals and all were very impressed. Well presented, beautiful, piping hot food. The Beef Wellington was to die for. Big tip, to avoid disappointment, preorder to guarantee your first choices. Can’t wait to go back for more!
