Quick Facts About Buck Hotel
The Buck Hotel appears to have a number of strengths, as highlighted by the comments. One of the strengths mentioned is the food, with comments describing it as delicious and well-cooked. The fish and chips, meat feast parmo, thin crust pizza, and hamburger all received positive reviews. The mention of a special cheesecake further indicates that the pub offers a variety of tasty desserts. However, one comment mentions a disappointment in not being offered a dessert and feeling rushed to clear the table, which could be perceived as a weakness in the overall dining experience.
The availability and quality of beer is another strength of The Buck Hotel. Comments highlight a good choice of beer and one person specifically mentions enjoying a cold Coors. This suggests that the pub offers a satisfactory selection of beverages for patrons. Furthermore, the comment about the pub being cozy and homely implies a pleasant atmosphere, which can enhance the overall experience for customers.
The staff at The Buck Hotel are repeatedly praised for their hard work, pleasant demeanor, and excellent service. These qualities indicate a strong customer service culture within the pub, which is likely to contribute to positive experiences for patrons. In one comment, the staff are described as being unable to be more pleasant, highlighting their dedication to providing a great experience for customers.
The outdoor seating overlooking the river is mentioned as a positive feature, particularly on warmer days. This suggests that The Buck Hotel has a pleasant and scenic environment that can enhance the overall experience for customers. However, one comment mentions that the seating was not available on a particularly cold day, which may be a limitation during certain weather conditions.
The comment about the pub being dark, old, and creaky may be seen as both a strength and a weakness. Some customers may appreciate the traditional and atmospheric feel of a village pub, while others may prefer a more modern and well-lit establishment. This characteristic of The Buck Hotel may appeal to those seeking a traditional pub feel, but it may also deter customers who prefer a more modern ambiance.
In terms of weaknesses, one comment mentions a limited off-road parking situation. This could be inconvenient for customers who prefer to park near the pub, especially during busy times. Additionally, another comment notes that the children's menu was restrictive and that ordering from the main menu was necessary for a five-year-old. This suggests a potential weakness in the range of options available for younger diners.
Overall, The Buck Hotel appears to have several strengths that contribute to positive dining experiences, such as delicious food, a good choice of beer, hardworking and pleasant staff, and a cozy atmosphere. However, there are also some weaknesses to consider, including potential limitations on parking and a restrictive children's menu.

Food (fish & chips for me) was OK, no Turkey! Young staff hard working and pleasant. good choice of beer yet I STILL opted for the cold Coors!
Its a dark, old and creaky pub like most good village pubs, limited off road parking with plenty of seating outdoors on warmer days overlooking the river but not this morning at -4 degs..
Tucked into a large meat feast parmo. Very tasty, loved the chorizo/pepperoni touch. Beer good too
The food was nice and I was disappointed that we weren't offered a desert just the bill. I think there was a rush to clear tables , my son was still eating and the rest of the plates were cleared , if I hadn't said anything I am sure his would have been whipped away as well. After a great experience just before Christmas his dampened my feelings.
Called in on NYE after a short local walk. Just the ticket after a week of roast dinners over Christmas. Excellent food and drink. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. Very highly recommended!!!
Went here with friends for my 50th birthday meal. The food was delicious. Piping hot, well cooked. Staff were excellent, service was great. We will be going back again and would recommend The Buck to anyone.
Came here as we were staying close by. We only popped in for a drink. The pub is cosy and homely and had a lovely atmosphere. I also got the special cheesecake which was delicious. It was good to see a local pub have life in it on a Wednesday evening! Keep up the good work
Food was lovely except they didn't tell.us on booking we couldn't have the Sunday lunch menu,.children's menu was very restrictive. Had to order from the main menu for my five yearold. Service was extremely slow
Nice thin crust pizza and delicious hamburger enjoyed by myself and my husband. Dog friendly pub with a friendly atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
