Quick Facts About Café Capri
Café Capri is a cafe that has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. In terms of strengths, one positive aspect mentioned is the combination of biscotti and Reese's peanut butter cups, which seems to be a unique and delicious offering. Additionally, the food is described as excellent, with customers enjoying their fry-ups, jacket potatoes with toppings, coffees, and ice cream. The quick and polite service is also noted as a strength, with customers receiving their hot food promptly and being satisfied with the overall service experience. The cafe is also praised for its cleanliness and accessibility, with plenty of room for a mobility scooter and facilities for disabled individuals. The ice cream at Café Capri is specifically mentioned as being awesome, indicating that it is a standout item.
However, there are several weaknesses that are pointed out in the comments as well. One of the main criticisms is the lack of staff and capacity to handle a high volume of customers. On a busy day, there were only two staff members working, which resulted in delays and issues with service. Some customers even had to write down their own orders due to the lack of staff. This understaffing issue also affected table service, with customers having to go up to the counter to make their orders. Another complaint is the inconsistency in the quality and quantity of food. For example, one customer mentioned that their paninis did not come with salad as advertised, and the burger and sausage meals were lacking in portion size. Additionally, there were concerns about the value for money, with high prices for beverages like a can of coke and glass of juice.
The atmosphere of the café is also criticized in some comments. One customer mentioned a lack of atmosphere due to it being quiet in the morning, while another noted that the decor was tired and old-fashioned. Stains on the walls and furniture were also mentioned, indicating a lack of cleanliness and maintenance. Another issue raised is the limited number of toilets, particularly for the number of seats in the café.
Overall, Café Capri has strengths in terms of unique food offerings, excellent food quality, and friendly service. However, it faces weaknesses such as a lack of staff and capacity to handle a high volume of customers, inconsistency in food quality and quantity, concerns about value for money, and issues with the atmosphere and cleanliness. These weaknesses suggest areas for improvement that could enhance the overall customer experience at Café Capri.

Combined biscotti and reese's peanut butter cups. My cousin did pistachio and cherry, he said it was good (sorry no picture).
Food was excellent we had two fry ups, 1 jacket potato with toppings coffees & ice cream all of us enjoyed what we had & would definitely return if we are ever in the area again.
Had a really nice breakfast, good hot food, quick polite service. No atmosphere as was quiet in the morning.
Well News years day 2022, sun was out first nice weather for over a week rather expected to be busy yet this place only had 2 staff on. Coffee and cook.
I don't think I have ever seen the cook (maybe owner) give out order booklets for everyone to write down there own orders before,.first for me.
I went up to the counter to make my order as I could see would be a while for table service.
Ordered for the family, 2 panini's, kids meals Sausage and chips and burger and chips. The panisis are suppose to come with Salad both did not. The burger was a quarter pounder (no cheese or sauce) with not many chips.ans only 1 small sausge with not many chips. Still charged same price for this lack of food!
I asked for a jug of tap water while the food was being given to us and was told to go to the counter and ask, only to find an empty counter for 5mins, gave up waiting.
Safe to say this place could not handle the volume of people, I could be harsh how ever I doubt I will be going back to to.this place.
Note on value, over priced in my opinion. £1.40 for a can of coke yet £1.80 for a glass of juice for my kids shocking and to top is I asked for Orange juice and get presented with Apple juice. When you have 2 young kids and a new born baby in hand you kinda say whatever just give me the food and drink as my kids are tired and grumpy.
Great location and so much potential how ever the manager clearly does not care enough to make the extra effort and wants to just make more money for.his own pocket.
Oh another note 1 toilet in 1 room, for disabled which is great how ever for the amount of seats it is not enough.
5 stars, had a lovely meal today. Nothing was to much trouble. The ice cream was awsome.
We visited here on our holiday (family of 4 adults and 1 child). The cafe is lovely and clean ,friendly staff, responsible prices.
We liked it so much we returned for a breakfast on our last day.
Plenty of room for a mobility scooter and very accessible for disabilities.
If we holiday here again we will definitely return.
My Mum and I popped into Cafe Capri on a whim on a rainy day. The entrance door was shut with a table and chairs in front of it, the way into the cafe was through a big open door where customers are usually served ice cream. There was no ice cream in the fridge so it was unclear why this massive door was open on such a nasty rainy day. It meant that inside was really cold. The decor is very tired and old fashioned but that didn’t matter to us too much. There was however food and drink stains up the wall and splattered over the radiator where we sat. We sat and our order was taken, not long after we could smell cigarette smoke really strongly. We moved tables to see if we could avoid it but it got stronger. We asked the lady behind the counter if someone was smoking on the premises but it turned out two men were smoking outside the big open door. She kindly asked them to move on. My Mum’s tea arrived with a bowl of Demerara sugar (?) in crockery which was outdated and shabby. Our chips took ages to arrive, with customers who arrived after us, and who knew the owner, receiving their orders before us (which included chips). The cheesy chips (£4.90) are £2 more than regular chips, it was hard to see why this was as there was not £2 worth of cheese on top. We ate and left, I’m sure in the summer it is busy with people wanting ice cream, but for a cafe with such a prominent spot it was disappointing. Cafe Capri needs to pull itself into being more up to date and welcoming.
Very nice lunch cheese and mushroom omelette, chips and salad plus a Panini with Salad for my wife. Best value in town! Plus a couple of flat whites. Coconut ice cream as well. Yum.
