Fantastic coffee and a great selection of sweet and savory offerings. Friendly service and atmosphere! The hot chocolate is an extra special treat. We were there daily during a recent visit to the area and can’t wait to be back. The steak and stilton pie and sour cherry and pistachio cake were a couple of our favorites not to mention the toasties which make a hearty lunch. Such a lovely cafe!
Value is good but some stuff needs to be re labeled, both pies I purchased (turkey and ham, and steak and stilton) both did not mention they had mushrooms in. Which is a massive blow to all those who dislike those slimey things. I feel there is enough of us to encourage a simple: contains mushrooms.
Also, the 'sour cherry and pistachio cake' was not labelled as a mainly coconut based and flavoured cake.
These simple changes would incline me to go to 5 stars as the other food I got was spot on.
My friend and I popped in here and we shared 2 cakes that looked lovely but we're sadly very disappointing.
The sour cherry and pistachio cake looked so colourful but the overriding flavour was coconut.
The white chocolate bakewell was heavy and without any real flavour .. it was so bland that we left most of it.
It's not a big place and it was our first visit.
We got chatting to a regular customer and was told that the food is normally very good, so maybe avoid the cakes we tried and go for something different.
Great coffee and wonderful that it's not a chain! Can't be a little quiet but is quirky and nice to spend time or to get a takeaway from
Visited this cafe recently and was surprised how big it is inside. Had coffee and cake. Cake was delicious and they had decaf coffee. The place got filled really quickly, think it's popular. Service was courteous and prompt. Will be back.
Simply awesome! The 36 blend hot chocolate is *chef's kiss*
