Carluccio's in Birmingham, Grand Central place has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant, it is important to consider the various aspects mentioned in the comments.
Starting with the strengths, many customers praised the food at Carluccio's. Multiple reviews mentioned that the food was amazing, delicious, and tasted of high quality. Customers raved about the flavors and how their meals were a delightful experience. The menu seemed to have a good variety, with options like the classic breakfast and the crab and lobster lasagne receiving positive feedback. The fact that customers were willing to drive for hours just to eat at Carluccio's speaks volumes about the taste and quality of the food.
Another strength mentioned by customers was the friendly and attentive staff. Reviewers commented on how the staff was lovely, attentive, and made their dining experience enjoyable. One particular server, Senior, was highlighted for his exceptional customer service skills. Other positive remarks included friendly staff, nice waiters, and a waiter with a funny Italian voiceover. These positive interactions create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for customers.
The third strength is the presence of a deli section and a store within the restaurant. Customers appreciated the variety of nice produce and gift boxes available. This gives customers the opportunity to purchase Italian products and take a piece of Carluccio's home with them.
Moving on to weaknesses, one recurring issue was the long wait times. Some customers mentioned that they had to wait for a significant amount of time before their food arrived. Although the staff offered a generous discount and a bag of desserts as compensation, the wait time was still a negative aspect of the experience. In addition, one customer pointed out that there was no acknowledgment of waiting times by the staff.
One customer mentioned that the chairs were uncomfortable and resulted in a numb bum after sitting for a prolonged period of time. While this may seem like a minor issue, it can impact the overall dining experience, especially for customers who spend a considerable amount of time in the restaurant.
Another negative comment mentioned the dessert options. One customer found the cannoli to be average and not inspiring. There was also a complaint about a special dessert, "BOSCO INCANTATO," with strawberries that had gone off but were still served. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the quality and taste of certain dishes.
A few customers mentioned the noise level, particularly on a busy Friday night. While one customer appreciated that the music wasn't too loud, another found it to be a little noisy. This can detract from the overall dining experience, as a comfortable and quiet environment is often preferred by customers.
In conclusion, Carluccio's in Birmingham, Grand Central place has several strengths, such as the amazing food, friendly and attentive staff, and the presence of a deli section and store. However, there are also weaknesses, including the long wait times, uncomfortable chairs, and inconsistencies in certain desserts. Despite these weaknesses, the positive aspects of the restaurant seem to outweigh the negatives, as customers still expressed a desire to return and highlighted the overall enjoyable experience they had at Carluccio's.

Lovely food. Unfortunately we had rather a long wait for ours. Not sure why but the staff we lovely gave us a generous discount and a bag of lovely desserts to take with us as we had to catch a train. Staff were lovely and attentive. Picture of takeaway cake. Food got devoured before I could think of taking a photo of it!
I had the pleasure of visiting here this morning after my sister recommended it and I most certainly was not disappointed! We were advised by a waitress to choose a table and someone would be with us shortly. Our server, Senior, was amazing, his customer service skills were second to none! He took his time with us and explained the breakfast and drink options and did not hurry us at all. The food was beautiful, major compliments to the chef! Senior came back over and asked if all was okay which it was. We were left to enjoy our surroundings and the food and it truly was wonderful! We went for the classic breakfast which cost £10.95 and this includes a hot drink AND a cold drink (cold drinks were all freshly made and the tea actually comes with a pot of tea) Definitely worth the price and you can taste the quality of the food. Overall, a really great experience and I will be going back for sure. MASSIVE shout out to Senior once more as you made us laugh and made our time there that much more enjoyable ????????
first of all, the food was amazing. let's just put that out there. everything i ate tasted like a firework going off in my mouth or something, if i could i would drive the 5 hours specifically JUST for the food. but i can't so i'll have to live with the pics. secondly, the staff were great, the music wasn't too loud - which is huge for me as a partially deaf person. although it was a little noisy. nothing too bad, it was a friday night so i wasn't expecting it not to be. there's a cute little store too!! i didn't get a chance to look at everything by there were sauces, and the like which is LOVE.
the one downside for me was the chairs, which is such a bizarre thing to point out. we were there for nearing on 3 hours maybe and my god was me bum numb when we left ???? literally, other than the uncomfortable chair everything was wonderful.
Staff friendly, only had a drink but the red wine was nice ! The shop was really good, full of nice produce and gift boxes
Just went for dessert. Cannoli was ok. Not the most inspiring, but marginally better than the premade ones you can get from Italian street food stalls. "BOSCO INCANTATO" - mushroom inspired dessert. Look at it. Do you want to eat this? Was meant to be the special dessert for £6.75. Menu listed raspberries, but strawberries had clearly gone off but were still served.
Clean restaurant and deli section was good, otherwise would be 2/5. Staff slow but it was busy. No acknowledgement of waiting times though.
Have you heard when they say staff make the place . Well the food was really on point I had a crab an lobster lasagne, it was on the chef's special list and the waiter that was serving us was brilliant his attitude and detail attention even Italian voiceover was funny it made coming to this restaurant lovely. On a night with and old friend ...
食物味道唔錯,但座位有點擠迫,價錢有點貴!
Really nice food. Simple and tasty. I cannot say the same about coffee. Really nice and friendly staff.
