Quick Facts About Chip Stop
Chip Stop has received mixed feedback from customers, with some praising its friendly atmosphere and delicious food, while others have complained about the portion sizes, prices, and hygiene issues. In order to provide a comprehensive analysis, let's explore the strengths and weaknesses of Chip Stop using the comments provided.
One of the main strengths highlighted by customers is the friendly atmosphere and service at Chip Stop. Many customers mentioned that they felt welcomed and enjoyed interacting with the staff, particularly the owner who was described as friendly and chatty. This emphasizes the local and community-oriented nature of the business, providing a positive experience for customers.
Another strength identified by customers is the taste and quality of the food. Positive comments regarding the chips, fish, fish cake, and sausage were mentioned, indicating that Chip Stop delivers in terms of flavor. The use of words like "incredible," "superb," and "delightful" further highlights the satisfaction customers felt with the food.
The longevity of Chip Stop is also mentioned as a positive aspect. Some customers mentioned that the business has been serving customers for many years, indicating a level of trust and reliability. This longevity contributes to the local identity and familiarity of the shop, making it a viable option for customers in the area.
However, despite these strengths, there are several weaknesses that have been expressed by customers. One key concern is the portion sizes. Several customers have complained about the small portions, stating that they were not enough for even two people. This issue is further exacerbated by the high prices, with one customer specifically mentioning a price of £15.60 for a kids meal, sausage and chips, and peas. This discrepancy between portion sizes and prices may deter customers from returning or recommending Chip Stop to others.
Hygiene concerns were also raised by customers. One customer mentioned being unhappy with the level of hygiene, particularly the person handling money also wrapping chips. This raises concerns about cross-contamination and the potential for germs from the money to transfer onto the food. The customer's request for a fresh bag was met, but the lack of handwashing by the staff member diminished the effectiveness of the solution. It is important for businesses in the food industry to prioritize hygiene in order to maintain customer satisfaction and prevent potential health issues.
Quality issues were also mentioned by customers. One customer complained about the chips being undercooked and another mentioned dry, recooked chips. This indicates inconsistencies in the preparation and cooking process, which can negatively impact the overall dining experience.
Lastly, one customer expressed disappointment with the value and quality compared to a nearby takeaway. The customer mentioned being lured by the larger portion sizes and better treatment at the other place. This suggests that Chip Stop may be losing customers to competitors who offer better value and quality for the same price.
In conclusion, Chip Stop has several strengths such as its friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and longevity in the community. However, there are clear weaknesses in terms of portion sizes, prices, hygiene concerns, and quality issues. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for Chip Stop to maintain and attract customers in the highly competitive food industry.

Lived around Woodgate and Fosse Road all my life.
Came into the shop today with my partner and grabbed a cone of chips.
I will finally agree with my dad that they're the best chips.
He's been telling me for years.
Friendly atmosphere and service.
A real local business that has been serving customers for many years and is definitely worth my money.
Chipstop is for sure my new local!
Tried for the first time do not recommend 15.60 for kids meal and sausage and chips and pea. The peas was like water batter is anemic and sausage inside looks raw stay away!!
Fantastic chippy. Could well be the best chippy I've been outside of Scotland. Who I think is the owner has been friendly and chatty every time I've been in. Reminds me of home. So glad it's close!
Amazing food, the chips were incredible the fish was superb just too much for me, fish cake was delightful. Well done and keep it up guys
Not been here for a while and won't be returning. Portions were laughable and came with an extra side of grease.
First visit to this chip shop yesterday and unfortunately it will definitely be my last. Really not happy with the level of hygiene. The person on till who is handling money should not also be wrapping chips! The amount of germs on money is phenomenal and will easily get through a very thin piece of tissue paper!! I commented on this and asked for a fresh bag.. She obliged but unfortunately did not wash her hands beforehand so it was fairly pointless. I had an upset stomach last night and again today. The chips were also slightly undercooked and the portion size was very small.
Excellent service use to go here all the time and now currently looking for a job here to help out to make the place even better
Not fresh, recooked very dry chips.
Very Expensive for for tiny portion, paid for a Large £3.60, no way was it enough for even 2 people.
Chinese man was serving me nicely Suddenly his I think wife comes Running from the back, the poor man was sent back in the middle of putting the chips in...
Very Disappointed, used to go there regularly, it seems not good value or quality any more.
