Quick Facts About Church Street Chip Shop

Church Street Chip Shop has received a mix of positive and negative comments, indicating both strengths and weaknesses of the establishment. We will analyze each comment and provide an overview of the overall strengths and weaknesses of the chip shop.
Starting with the positive comments, one customer mentioned that the food at Church Street Chip Shop is "sehr gutes Essen," which translates to "very good food" in German. This indicates that the quality of the food is a strength of the chip shop. Another positive comment highlighted the "zügige Bedienung," meaning "quick service." This suggests that the chip shop is efficient in serving customers and has a strength in providing fast service.
Another customer stated that they had one of the best carry-out fish and chips from Church Street Chip Shop, emphasizing the quality of the food once again. They also mentioned that the service was very quick, indicating another strength of the chip shop in terms of fast and efficient service.
Contrasting with these positive comments, there were several negative reviews as well. One customer described the chips as "cold and like leather," and criticized the batter on the fish for being soft on one half and crispy on the other side. They also mentioned that the steak pie was "rock hard on the outside," and the gravy inside was one hard lump, describing it as "disgusting." This review highlights weaknesses in the chip shop's food quality and consistency.
Another negative comment mentioned that the lady serving was not helpful and impatient, resulting in an incorrect order. While they mentioned that the issue was quickly resolved, it still indicates a weakness in customer service. However, the customer did mention that the food was really good, praising the fish and sausages. This suggests that despite the weakness in customer service, the strength of the chip shop's food quality persists.
One positive comment highlighted Church Street Chip Shop as the best chippy in Stornoway. They mentioned big portions and recommended the fish bites supper, indicating strength in portion size and menu options. They also praised the quick service, fresh and tasty food, and the slushies that kids love. This review overall indicates strengths in food quality, menu variety, and family-friendly options.
Unfortunately, there was one negative comment stating that the fish was not fresh and tasteless. This review highlights a clear weakness in the chip shop's ability to maintain consistent quality in their food.
Lastly, a customer mentioned great clean chips and that the food tastes good. However, they criticized the waiting times, stating that they were ridiculous for a chip shop. This indicates a weakness in the chip shop's efficiency in terms of waiting times.
In summary, Church Street Chip Shop has several strengths, including good quality food, quick service, big portions, a varied menu, and tasty chips. However, they also face weaknesses in terms of food consistency, customer service, and waiting times. Despite these weaknesses, the overall feedback leans towards positive, indicating that the strengths of the chip shop outweigh the weaknesses.

Best TL Reviews

Sehr gutes Essen . Zügige Bedienung. Zu empfehlen
One of the best carry out fish and chips I have had, very quick service..
Has to be one of the worst fish and chip shops I've been to. Let's start with the chip's cold and like lether, batter on the fish soft on one half and crispy on the other side . and the steak pie was uneatable rock hard on the out side and the gravy in side was one hard lump disgusting must have been left on the heat all day what a waist of money.
Lady serving was not very helpful and quite inpatient and got the order wrong, but it was sorted quickly. The food was really good though the fish was good and the sausages were much better than the usual fish and chip shop type. Chips were pale but tasty.
This is the best chippy in Stornoway. Big portions, if you're not sure about a full fish supper then highly recommend the fish bites supper. Quick service, food always fresh and tasty. Kids love the slushies too (special occasions only of course ????)
Very very dissapointing.
Recommended this shop to friends as we had lovely fish and chips here on our last visit to stornoway 6 months ago.this time the fish was not fresh and was tasteless.would not Recommend
Great clean chips, food is nice vut there's nothing fast about it! Waiting times for a chippy are ridiculous but the food tastes good.
Queue of 6 waiting to be served and 4/5 awaiting completion of orders. 5 staff working flat out and were very well organised and worked there way through orders quite quickly. The food was excellent. Large menu displayed within easy sight for all.
