Quick Facts About Dellos Fish & Chips
Dellos Fish & Chips has several strengths that make it a popular choice among customers. First and foremost, the staff is described as very friendly, providing a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for customers. Additionally, the service is fast and efficient, ensuring that customers are not kept waiting for their food. The quality of the food is consistently praised, with the battered fish being particularly highlighted as amazing. This suggests that the chefs at Dellos are skilled in preparing delicious and top-quality dishes. The fact that they remember customer orders after repeat visits also showcases their attention to detail and personalized service.
The large portions and tasty chips are also some of the positive aspects of Dellos. Customers appreciate the generous servings of crumbed haddock and chips, noting that the fish is delicious and the chips are flavorful. The fact that the food is consistently cooked to a high standard suggests that the quality control at Dellos is commendable.
Another strength of Dellos is its popularity and customer base. According to one review, the chip shop is never quiet in the early evening, indicating a strong customer following. This could be a testament to the quality and reputation of the establishment, as satisfied customers are likely to recommend Dellos to others.
However, there are a few weaknesses raised in the comments. One customer mentions that Dellos used to do good pizza but has since declined in quality. This suggests that Dellos may need to improve its non-fish and chips menu offerings to cater to a wider range of preferences.
Another weakness highlighted is the fact that Dellos does not sell a roll and chips together. Instead, customers need to buy a bag of chips and a roll separately. This can be seen as a bit mean or inconvenient for customers who prefer the traditional roll and chips combination.
The lack of card payment option at Dellos is also seen as a weakness. In an increasingly cashless society, customers expect the convenience of paying with their cards. By only accepting cash, Dellos may be limiting its potential customer base and alienating those who prefer to pay with cards.
One negative review criticizes Dellos for reheating small and crispy chips when buying during the opening hours. This suggests that the freshness of the food may be a concern, as reheating can affect the taste and quality. The portion sizes of the fish are also described as small and expensive, which may be viewed as a poor value for money by some customers.
Overall, Dellos Fish & Chips has several strengths, including friendly staff, fast service, top-quality food, and a loyal customer base. However, there are a few weaknesses to consider, such as the decline in non-fish and chips options, the lack of a roll and chips combination, the absence of card payment, and potential concerns about reheated food and portion sizes. By addressing these weaknesses, Dellos could further improve its reputation and attract an even larger customer base.

Dellos fish and chips is In burnside for anyone that doesn't know it is near rutherglen area, very friendly staff. Fast and efficient service, top quality food. Battered fish is amazing and it is always on point. Once you have been going for a while they remember what you order and it is never rushed, it is a nice experience. It is a takeaway. But worth giving it a try
Had the crumbed haddock and chips - which was the special. Totally delicious fish and huge. Chips tasty too. Visiting family nearby. Had visited other family in Kent prior and the fish and chips they got there was tasteless and greasy. You are lucky to have this place as your local! No wonder it's busy.
Pretty decent fish and chips, used to do good pizza back in the day but not as nice now. Marking it down as it’s the only chip shop in the west of Scotland that pointedly does not sell a roll and chips, forcing you to buy a bag of chips and a roll separately. Bit mean.
Dellos is a Brilliant chip-shop. Their customer-base must be impressive as the shop is never quiet in the early evening .
The food is cooked to a consistently high standard (it's all too easy to make terrible chips) and wìth Dellos it's bang-on every time.
I am a particular fan of their fish suppers.
Very good quality Haddock Supper. Staff friendly.
This used to be my go to chip shop when I last lived in the area. Since moving back, I’ve been using the Kraken as it was nearer, but the quality has been a bit hit‘n miss, so thought I’d give Dellos a go again. I don’t think the staff have changed (or aged) since I was last there. Fish super was delicious and the quality of fish far superior to Kraken. I’ll definitely be using Dellos as my regular chip shop again!
Needs to start taking cards. Literally the only chip shop I know that doesn't. In this day and age, being cash only is a definite sign of dodginess.
Don't waste your money on this place. Reheated small crispy chips if you buy when they are just opened. Obviously trying to get rid of what they didn't sell at lunchtime. Potions of fish small and very pricey. Would not go back due to inflated prices, small potions and reheats. They also don't do fritters as they are obviously buying the cheapest small potatoes that are evident in the small crispy chips that you get that are not big enough for fritters.!! Scandelous!! We spent over £40 for 4 fish suppers and a haggis supper. Binned. Disgusting. Would not return!!
