Quick Facts About Dolphin fish bar and restaurant
The Dolphin fish bar and restaurant has both strengths and weaknesses, as evidenced by the comments provided. It is important to analyze these comments to get an accurate understanding of the establishment.
Starting with the strengths, it is clear that the cleanliness of the restaurant is highly praised. One customer specifically mentioned that the restaurant was "lovely and clean." This is an essential aspect for any dining establishment, as customers prefer to eat in a clean and hygienic environment. Additionally, the food is generally regarded as well-cooked, with one customer mentioning that the fish and chips were "beautifully cooked to order." The size of the fish is also noted to be impressive, with another customer expressing disbelief at the portion size for the affordable price of £9.10. This indicates that the Dolphin fish bar and restaurant provides value for money, offering generous portions of quality food.
The longevity of the establishment is highlighted in one comment, where a customer mentions having been a patron for years. This suggests that the Dolphin has a loyal customer base and has been able to retain customers over an extended period. A loyal customer base is usually an indicator of quality and consistent service.
Moving on to the weaknesses of the Dolphin fish bar and restaurant, a recurring complaint in the comments indicates that the prices have increased significantly. One customer notes that the prices have doubled in recent months, making the establishment more expensive compared to some local competitors. This rise in prices has put off some customers, with one person expressing shock at the price increases and questioning how the establishment will survive. This suggests that the Dolphin may need to reevaluate its pricing strategy to remain competitive and retain customers.
Another common complaint is regarding the greasiness of the chips. One customer specifically mentions that they were "the greasiest chips I've ever had." This is important feedback as chips are a staple dish at a fish and chip restaurant. The Dolphin should address this issue and work on improving the quality of their chips to meet customer expectations.
There are also comments about the overall appearance of the restaurant being a bit run-down. Although the staff is described as nice, the establishment is criticized for looking worn. This can create a negative impression on potential customers and may deter them from dining in. The Dolphin should consider investing in renovations or improvements to create a more inviting atmosphere.
Lastly, there are a few comments about the quality of the food itself. One customer mentions that the batter was overcooked and falling off the fish, while another describes the batter as a weird orange color. These comments suggest that the Dolphin needs to pay closer attention to the cooking process to ensure consistent quality.
In conclusion, the Dolphin fish bar and restaurant has strengths such as a clean environment, well-cooked food, and generous portion sizes. However, there are weaknesses such as price increases, greasy chips, a run-down appearance, and inconsistencies in food quality. Addressing these weaknesses and capitalizing on its strengths will be essential for the Dolphin to remain competitive and maintain its customer base.

Usually order and take away but Tuesday evening i decided to go and sit in the restaurant it was lovely and clean. Fish and chips were beautifully cooked to order. Could not believe the size of the fish all this for £9.10. Yum
Always been really good food and service here. I’ve been coming for years, favourite fish and chips in Lowestoft.
Excellent friendly takeaway and sit in cafe, great value and well cooked Fish and Chips. Highly recommended.
Since has doubled in price during recent months they're expensive compared to some locals .portion of sizes are smaller but they charge a arm and leg.
Paying £1.90 for a small saveloy and £2.75 for a medium chips.
Nice enough staff place a bit ran down. Large portions, but….. greasiest chips I’ve ever had. Only ate a couple then in the bin they went, should be called the greasy dolphin
Honestly, the fish was over cooked and the batter was falling off it. Chris were average I would say. The guys in there were polite. It look a bit run down as well.
Nice piece of fish but batter was thick & over cooked. It was a weird orange colour !! Chips were ok
Well. Don't get me wrong. Food is good. But prices are extortionate. Cannot get a small chips for less than £2.20 now which used to only cost £1.40 a year ago. Large chips are £3.40 and a few weeks ago was only £2.80. Don't think I will be eating from here much due to the shocking price increases.
It's understandable that things like gas, electricity, food prices have gone up everywhere but this massive jump has put a shock on lots of people's faces. How are they supposed to survive. Best way of saying.
Prices are 40% cheaper 7 miles down the road for just as good chips from great Yarmouth market place and surrounds. Wouldn't even pay this much in a holiday park!.
