Quick Facts About Eliot Arms

Eliot Arms place, based on the comments received, seems to have several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. Firstly, the food is consistently praised as incredible and amazing. The group of six had a variety of dishes including burgers, haddock, and fish stew, all of which were highly satisfying. The apple crumble is also specifically highlighted as a taste sensation. Additionally, the staff is commended for their friendliness and accommodating nature. The pub manager is mentioned as being particularly attentive, regularly checking on the customers. The quick service is also noted as a positive aspect of the dining experience.
Another strength of Eliot Arms place is its dog-friendly policy in most parts of the pub. This is likely to attract dog owners who can enjoy their meals without having to leave their furry friends behind. The reasonable selection of drinks, which includes ales, lagers, ciders, and spirits, is another positive aspect mentioned in the comments. This suggests that the pub caters to a wide range of preferences when it comes to beverages.
The recent refurbishment is also seen as a strength, with customers describing the new look as great. The beautiful county pub atmosphere is enjoyed by customers, and the Sunday lunch experience is highly praised. The sharing chicken dish is specifically mentioned as being beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The attentive service, good roast potatoes, large Yorkshire puddings, and colourful vegetables contribute to the overall positive experience. Regular customers who have been eating at the Eliot for many years claim that this was the best meal they have ever had.
While there are several strengths mentioned, there are also a couple of weaknesses that are worth addressing. One customer feels that the prices of drinks are too high compared to other places. The example given is a pint of Guinness priced at £5.45, which is considered 20% more expensive than other establishments. This may deter some customers from frequenting the pub, especially those who are price-conscious.
Another potential weakness is mentioned indirectly in one comment, stating that the staff were a little inexperienced as the pub is newly opened. However, it is also mentioned that once the staff have established themselves, the pub has the potential to be a five-star visit. This implies that the inexperience of the staff is a temporary issue that could be resolved with time and training.
In conclusion, Eliot Arms place has many strengths, including incredible food, quick service, a friendly and accommodating staff, a reasonable selection of drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. The dog-friendly policy and beautiful county pub ambiance also contribute to its positive reputation. The weaknesses mentioned include potentially high drink prices compared to other establishments and the inexperience of the staff due to the pub being newly opened. However, overall, Eliot Arms place seems to offer a highly satisfying dining experience and has the potential to become a top-rated pub once the temporary issues are addressed.

Best TL Reviews

Food was incredible, as a group of 6 we had the burgers, haddock and shared fish stew, and all were amazing, and the quick service added to the satisfaction. The apple crumble was a taste sensation! Dog friendly in most of the pub. Staff were friendly, particularly the pub manager who was very accommodating and checked on us regularly. Reasonable selection of drinks, including ales, lagers, ciders and a range of spirits. As this is newly opened, the staff were a little inexperienced but once they have established themselves will make this a five star visit. Added pictures of the evening menu, specials currently only available at lunch.
We all enjoyed an excellent lunch - we have been eating at the Eliot for many years and this was the best meal we have ever had. The option of having smaller desserts was much appreciated too. Many thanks to all the staff involved especially to Eliza who looked after us so well. We look forward to our next visit.
The new refurb looks great, but the prices of drinks seems a bit ‘out there’ for me. A good 20% more than most other places, which personally I think is a bit too much. I think it was £5.45 for a pint of Guinness. Other than that, I think it has the potential to be really nice.
I would go so far as to say this was the best pub Sunday roast we have ever had! We had the sharing chicken, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! Such a lovely place and excellent staff!
Such a lovely pub and the food was incredible. We were a large group of 10 and had 2 toddlers and a baby with us and all the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
Beautiful county pub! Group of 4 for Sunday lunch. Very attentive service, good roast potatoes, massive Yorkshire’s and very colourful veggies!
