Quick Facts About The Plough Inn

The Plough Inn receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from its customers, with the majority of comments praising the friendly staff, great food, and cozy atmosphere. This indicates that the strengths of The Plough Inn lie in its welcoming and attentive service, delicious food, and warm ambiance. However, there are also a few areas for improvement, such as the exterior appearance, food presentation, and lack of a menu and wine list.
One of the most frequently mentioned strengths of The Plough Inn is the friendly and accommodating staff. Multiple comments express gratitude towards the staff for their attentiveness and helpfulness. This demonstrates that The Plough Inn excels in providing exceptional customer service, creating a positive and welcoming environment for its visitors. The staff's willingness to provide tips and recommendations to customers also adds value to the overall experience.
Another strength highlighted by customers is the quality and taste of the food served at The Plough Inn. The made-on-the-premises hummus is particularly praised as the best ever tasted by one customer. The menu is described as having amazing choices, with a great selection of vegetarian options available. Customers consistently mention the generous portions and the delicious taste of the dishes, indicating that the food is a standout feature of The Plough Inn.
The cozy interior and ambiance of The Plough Inn are also commonly mentioned as a positive aspect. Customers appreciate the traditional countryside pub atmosphere and describe the pub as a nice and quiet local establishment. The mention of "little nooks and crannies to hide away in" suggests that The Plough Inn offers a comfortable and intimate setting for customers to relax and enjoy their visit.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, there are a few weaknesses that are mentioned in customer comments. The first is the exterior appearance of The Plough Inn, described as moody and in need of painting. This suggests that the initial impression of the pub may not be as positive as it could be, potentially deterring some potential customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the poor presentation of food and sweet dishes. One comment suggests serving the vegetables separately and improving the presentation of desserts. This indicates that while the taste of the food is highly praised, there may be room for improvement in terms of visual appeal and plating.
Additionally, one customer mentions the lack of a menu and wine list as a drawback. This suggests that The Plough Inn could benefit from providing customers with a clear and comprehensive menu, as well as a selection of wines to enhance their dining experience.
In conclusion, The Plough Inn excels in providing friendly service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. The positive customer feedback highlights these as the main strengths of the establishment. However, there are also some areas for improvement, such as the exterior appearance, food presentation, and the provision of a menu and wine list. By addressing these weaknesses, The Plough Inn has the potential to further enhance its offering and attract more customers. Overall, the positive comments greatly outweigh the negative ones, indicating that The Plough Inn is a highly regarded establishment that is worth visiting.

Best TL Reviews

Wish I lived near here! A fabulously friendly welcome, great beer, good wine and amazing food. One of our party is a chef and was very impressed. The 'made on the premises' hummus was the best any of us had ever tasted. I will be up from Surrey to visit my mother more often from now on!
Just had a fantastic meal. Difficult to choose from the menu because all the choices were amazing. Great vegetarian choices.
Definitely coming back because we couldn’t manage a pudding!
Quantity and quality 5 star.
Staff attentive and helpful. Thanks ????????
Lovely local quiet pub with excellent quality food cooked to perfection and just the right portions served. Very friendly staff and good range if alcoholic beverages to choose from. Will definitely visit again.
Don't let the really moody exterior put you off (hopefully they paint it soon!), this is a really nice cosy, proper local countryside pub. When we went it was quiet, but I got the impression it can get busier. The landlady was very sweet and friendly. Some chatty locals at the bar who were happy to give us some tips for the next day's activities. Cosy interior.
But the best bit: the food. Really outstanding. Generous portions, well present, delicious. Good vegetarian selection too.
Glad we chose this spot for dinner!
Very pleasant and obliging staff. Food quality good but presentation poor. Consider serving veg separately. Sweet presentation very poor. Overall experience good despite no menu and wine list.
Stopped off after work for a cool Guinness and stopped for dinner. We both had fish and chips. Beautiful piece of fish, chips with the skins on making them super tasty, peas and tartare sauce. Simple dinner- super result! Thank you Andy
A genuine delight eating here.
Went for lunch and had the brisket with chorizo, beans and potatoes and it was a joy to eat.
The rest of my family had the flat-iron steak, which was one of the most lean and tender pieces of meat I've tried, and the fish and chips, which for less than a tenner was remarkable.
Service was delightful, as well, and the chef was down-to-earth and seemed to love the food he had created.
Will definitely be going again, as I've heard the sunday lunch is a must-eat!
Lovely place, little nooks and crannys to hide away in. The Landlord is so accomodating and friendly. There is a little outside area as well with a cherry tree in the summer. Not eaten there yet, but we plan to. Really worth a visit.
