Quick Facts About Empire Chinese Restaurant

Empire Chinese Restaurant in Orkney has received both positive and negative comments regarding its strengths and weaknesses. In order to provide a comprehensive analysis, the strengths and weaknesses will be discussed in detail below.
Starting with the strengths, one recurring theme in the comments is the fantastic and authentic taste of the food. Some customers mentioned that it reminded them of the food back home in Singapore, which suggests that the restaurant successfully replicates traditional Chinese flavors. The quality of the food was so impressive that one customer dined at the restaurant twice over a two-day period, indicating a high level of satisfaction. The staff also received praise for being friendly, professional, and accommodating. Friendly and efficient service was mentioned by multiple customers, which adds to the positive experience of dining at Empire Chinese Restaurant.
The presentation of the food was also commended, with customers describing it as beautiful and well-presented. This attention to detail contributes to a visually appealing dining experience. Additionally, the portion sizes were noted as good, ensuring that customers left satisfied. The garlic and pepper sauce and chow mein were specifically mentioned as delicious dishes, indicating that the flavors were well-balanced and enjoyable.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one customer mentioned that they had previously been hesitant to dine at Empire Chinese Restaurant due to doubts about the authenticity of the food. While this perception was changed after reading a positive review, it suggests that there may be a reputation issue affecting customer perception. Furthermore, another customer expressed disappointment with a takeaway order, specifically citing a bland chicken curry with inedible chunks of raw onion. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the quality of the food or lack of attention to detail in the cooking process.
There were also complaints about dessert items not being included in takeaway orders, which indicates an issue in the order accuracy and fulfillment process. This can lead to customer dissatisfaction and a loss of repeat business. Another customer mentioned finding slices of ginger in their meal, which they found to be excessive. This indicates a lack of attention to detail in the preparation of dishes, which may detract from the overall dining experience.
In terms of pricing, one customer commented that the prices they were given did not correspond to what was displayed on the menu seen from outside the restaurant. This pricing inconsistency may cause confusion and lead to customer dissatisfaction.
Efficiency was mentioned both as a strength and a weakness. While some customers appreciated the efficient service, others felt that it was too rushed. Specifically, one customer mentioned not having enough time to eat the snacks before their food was already served. This suggests a lack of pacing during the dining experience, which may diminish the enjoyment or relaxation of the meal.
Lastly, one customer mentioned that their bill was not detailed, which can be seen as a lack of transparency in pricing and may cause customer trust issues.
In conclusion, Empire Chinese Restaurant in Orkney has several strengths to their name, such as the fantastic and authentic taste of their food, friendly and professional staff, and visually appealing presentation. However, there are also areas that can be improved, including consistency in food quality, attention to detail in the cooking process, accuracy in takeaway orders, pricing transparency, and pacing during the dining experience. Addressing these weaknesses will help enhance the overall customer experience and maintain customer satisfaction.

Best TL Reviews

Whilst on vacation in Orkney, the chill made me crave some hot comfort Chinese food. Fortunately, I came across this restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic and authentic (so much so that it reminded me of the food back home in Singapore). I dined here twice over the 2 days that I stayed in Orkney - I think that fact speaks for the quality of the food. The owners were also very friendly and welcoming.
Absolutely beautiful food, well presented and truly tasty - the staff are friendly, proffesional and accomodating - definitely will be visiting again! Xx
Despite visiting Orkney with work for several years, I've never had the courage to dine here. Chinese food is often not authentic. Having read the positive review left by Leon, I decided to order a takeaway. Totally agree, it's very good! Stir fry noodles had a smokey flavour that is expected from the high heat used in authentic wok stir frying. Place was very busy but I didn't have to wait long for my order. Lots of staff and a very busy sounding kitchen. Polite staff and service. Looking forward to my next order when I am back working in Orkney. Keep up the good work
Very disappointed with our takeaway tonight. My husband collected it. He had a chicken curry. Bland and full of raw onions.big inedible chunks. Just thrown together without care . Overpriced for this dish. Please cook your lumps of onion better and make it more presentable.
Food was alright, but found this last 3 times now, every time we order one off the desserts they are never placed in the order When we collect. By the time we get home we ain’t going to come back again. Please can you in future make sure orders are checked before giving to customers.
Friendly and efficient service. We visited last minute without booking and it was busy. The food was great. Good sized portions. Loved the garlic and pepper sauce with the chicken and the chow mein was lovely too.. Everything tasted freshly cooked and after a long day in the Orkney wind we enjoyed every mouthful. Will definitely return when next on the island.
I've been eating there with a friend. The food can be eaten but is below average: I had at least 5 slices of ginger in my meal which was way to much. The prices on the menu we were given don't seem to correspond to the one on the menu you can see from outside. The service is very efficient but in some sense too efficient: we did not even have time to eat the snacks that the food was already given to us. Last, the bill was not detailed. I would not recommend.
Very good service.
The place was very busy at the time but that's because there was an event in Kirkwall on the day.
The first time we ordered food over the phone and a small mistake was made on the order but thats not likely to be their fault. The second time we ordered in person, paid for the full meal and we were missing quite a bit of what we ordered.
Once we took the food home we massively enjoyed it as it was really high quality and tasty.
