Quick Facts About George And Dragon

The George And Dragon place has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, many customers appreciate the pub's light and airy atmosphere, describing it as clean and having a restaurant-like aesthetic. This creates a pleasant and comfortable environment for customers to enjoy their meals.
Another strength highlighted by customers is the quality of the food. The Sunday roast dinners, in particular, are praised, with customers mentioning the delicious flavors and generous portions. Both meat eaters and vegetarians seem satisfied with the options available. The lamb is specifically mentioned as perfect and the homemade stuffing is described as excellent. There are also positive comments about the starters, such as the suet pudding and the Korean BBQ ribs. Overall, the food is said to be great and reasonably priced.
The service at the pub is also highly regarded. Customers appreciate the friendly and polite staff, mentioning that they were welcomed by Chef Zoe and served by a smart and tidy young waiter. Quick service is also noted, allowing customers to enjoy their meals without unnecessary delays.
The pub's dog-friendly policy is another strength. Customers appreciate being able to bring their dogs, although it is advised to clarify if booking a table to ensure that dogs are allowed in the specific area. The grassed seating area is also praised, providing a pleasant outdoor dining experience.
The ambiance and atmosphere at the pub are appreciated, with customers mentioning the beautiful décor and great atmosphere. However, one comment mentions that the tables are placed too close to each other, making it difficult to have a conversation without being overheard by neighboring tables. This could be seen as a weakness, as it affects the overall dining experience.
There are a few areas where the pub could improve, according to customer feedback. One comment mentions that the toilets are not accessible to wheelchair users, which is a significant drawback for inclusivity. Additionally, the steps leading to the toilets are described as scary for those using crutches or canes. While it is mentioned that there might be a wheelchair entrance at the front, it is not confirmed. Improving accessibility would make the pub more inclusive and accommodating for all customers.
Another area for improvement is the consistency of the food. While most customers have positive comments regarding the food, one experience mentioned undercooked chips, oily mushrooms and side sauce, and a steak that had not been rested properly. This resulted in disappointment with the quality of the food and a preference for cheaper options at other establishments. Consistency is crucial to maintain customer satisfaction and should be addressed to prevent further negative experiences.
In conclusion, the George And Dragon place has several strengths, including its light and airy atmosphere, delicious Sunday roast dinners, friendly staff, and dog-friendly policy. The pub is also praised for its beautiful décor and ambiance. However, the pub could improve its accessibility for wheelchair users and consistency in food quality. Addressing these areas for improvement would enhance the overall experience and satisfaction of customers.

Best TL Reviews

Light and airy pub with a clean, restaurant esque aesthetic.
Lovely roast dinners on a Sunday. Vegetarian suet pudding pictured, which was a nice flavour and texture. Meat eaters all impressed with their options.
Although the website says dog friendly, this is only on the bar area - do clarify if booking a table and planning to bring a dog!
Visited tonight and had the beef short rib, halibut, Korean BBQ ribs and popcorn cockles. Didn't stop to get a photo of the starters! All of the food was great and very generous portions too. Great service and a really clean and airy space that has been decorated beautifully by the new owners????
We came and had an amazing lunch on Sunday. The lamb was perfect and the home-made stuffing was excellent. Chef Zoe was lovely and welcoming!
The pub is warm, inviting and spacious, also dog-friendly in part so everyone is welcome. Highly recommend!
Lovely lunch outside in the grassed seating area. Very reasonably priced and quick service. We both had sandwiches, which were fresh and tasty. Well recommend.
Beautiful place & amazing atmosphere, only down would be that the toilets aren't accessible to wheelchair users and still a little scary for those on a crutch/cane too as you'd need to go down some big steps, I didn't see a wheelchair entrance at the front but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough as it says there is one. But I would definitely still give it 5* though, as they make up for it in all other areas, really nice food too, was a brilliant night and the staff are very friendly and polite. Thanks for having us ????????????????????
I never eat burgers but this one was GREAT! Filled to brim with goodies, lovely skinny fries and onion rings. Service from our young waiter was fantastic and he looked smart and tidy in his 'uniform '.
Next table was a little too close for my liking hence 4 stars for atmosphere as it was difficult to have a conversation with next diner being so close. But well done nontheless!
Pleasant Sunday lunch - really like the updated white decor, comfy dining furniture and outside space with play area for the kids. Staff were helpful. Food was mixed - no starters (?) We had roasts : the pork was not as tender as we like but the chicken was succulent and excellent. The veggies and cauliflower cheese were great but there were a couple of hard roasties that def needed a bit longer in the oven. All in all not bad just a few things that need a bit of improvement for an excellent rating.
I have been here previously and not had any issues until now...Starters were nice and hot when served, however when we got our mains, no steak knife, triple cooked chips were under cooked and hard, mushrooms and side sauce were inedible as they were so oily, steak hadn't been rested so juice all over the board it was served on and dripped off on to partners lap. Spoke to the waitress and she just said sorry...we was very disappointed in the quality of the food, we have had better from Harvester which is much cheaper, we will not be returning!
