Georges Chippy Place is a local chip shop that also offers traditional Chinese takeaways. It is a family-owned and well-known venue that is popular for its delicious and fresh food at reasonable prices. The strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant can be analyzed based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths of Georges Chippy Place is its reputation for serving the best chow mein. This comment highlights the quality of their Chinese dishes, indicating that they excel in this particular dish. Additionally, the restaurant is described as a traditional fish and chip shop, and customers appreciate the authenticity and taste of their fish and chips. The fact that it has been around for over 30 years suggests that it has built a loyal customer base, which speaks to the quality of its food and service.
Another strength of Georges Chippy Place is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by George and Sue. Customers mention feeling welcomed and valued, which enhances their dining experience. The owners are also praised for always ensuring that the food is hot and made well, with no issues. This attention to detail and customer satisfaction contributes to the positive reputation of the chip shop.
The restaurant's popularity is another strength. The fact that people are willing to travel from Droylsden to this chip shop highlights its appeal and suggests that it is worth the journey. Customers appreciate the friendliness of the staff even when they are busy, which indicates that the restaurant is efficient in handling high levels of customers without compromising on service quality.
In terms of weaknesses, one customer mentions that the chips do not last until they arrive home, suggesting that they become less enjoyable after a short period of time. While this may not be a significant drawback for many, it indicates a potential issue with the quality or freshness of the chips. Another comment criticizes the salt and pepper ribs, stating that they were lacking in quantity and overshadowed by onions. This suggests inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes.
One negative comment criticizes the value for money, stating that it is "absolutely rubbish." This dissatisfaction may stem from a specific incident where the customer felt that they did not receive their money's worth. However, it is important to note that this is only one customer's experience and may not be indicative of the overall value provided by the chip shop.
Another weakness highlighted in a comment is related to the quality of the chips and peas. The customer mentions that the chips were not cooked through and the peas were hard. These issues suggest a lack of consistency in the preparation of these side dishes.
Lastly, a comment mentions the inconvenience of having to place a £20 note in a tray rather than directly handing it to the staff. This critique highlights a minor issue with the payment process and suggests a potential area for improvement in terms of customer convenience.
In conclusion, Georges Chippy Place possesses several strengths. These include its reputation for serving the best chow mein, its authenticity as a traditional fish and chip shop, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the owners, and its popularity among customers. However, there are also some weaknesses identified, such as inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes, issues with the quality of certain side dishes, concerns about value for money, and minor inconveniences in the payment process. Overall, the strengths of the chip shop outweigh the weaknesses, and it continues to be a beloved local establishment.

George and Sue always make you feel welcome. Hot food made and never any issues
Been going here for 30+ years.
Best tasting fish, scallops, curry around.
Always friendly, even if they are very busy!
We travel from Droylsden to here now,
Used to only go when passing our on way back from Morrisons in Dukinfield.
I have been bought food from this chippy many times and never had a bad meal, the salt and pepper ribs are spot on, the only thing that I can criticize is that the chips don't last until we drive home as we eat them on the journey home!
As previously mentioned this chippy was brilliant, however, on buying food tonight I discovered that the salt and pepper ribs where almost none existant and drowned in onion pieces with hardly any ribs in the tray!
I don't know what has happened but the value for money is absolutely rubbish and sadly I will not be not be using this chipshop again!
Chips weren't cooked through. And peas were
Hard. And to be honest couldn't see the point of having to put my 20pound note in a tray. For her to subsequently pick the note up ,rather than just hand it to her.??
Excellent chippy. Very polite owners who are very efficient in getting your orders ready. Would recommend to all passing by to stop for some delicious fresh food.
Great chippy open every day except Sunday.
The best salt n pepper chips Ive had.
Have tried some Chinese dishes and was disappointed but for chips, peas and gravy and noodles they can't be beaten and the curry sauce is delish.
