Quick Facts About Hagley Cafe

Hagley Cafe Place is a popular establishment that receives mixed reviews from customers. However, it is important to consider both the strengths and weaknesses of the cafe based on the comments provided.
One of the main strengths of Hagley Cafe Place is the quality of the food. Multiple customers praised the food, particularly the breakfast sandwiches, full English breakfast, Eggs Royale, and carrot cake. The comments consistently highlighted the good quality ingredients and the delicious taste of the food. This indicates that the cafe takes pride in using high-quality ingredients to create tasty dishes.
Another strength is the friendly and accommodating staff. Many customers mentioned the warm welcome they received and the friendliness of the staff. The staff were also praised for their willingness to accommodate specific requests, such as preparing sandwiches in a certain way. This level of attentiveness and customer service contributes to a positive dining experience for customers.
Customers also appreciated the comfortable setting and nice decor of the cafe. This adds to the overall ambiance and creates an enjoyable environment for customers to dine in. The positive comments regarding the ambiance indicate that the cafe has made efforts to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
However, there are also weaknesses that were highlighted in the comments. One recurring issue is the high prices of the food. While some customers expressed a willingness to pay more for good quality, others felt that the prices were too high for what they received. This suggests that the cafe may need to re-evaluate their pricing strategy and ensure that it aligns with customer expectations in terms of value for money.
Another weakness identified is the inconsistent service. While many customers praised the friendly staff, there were also instances where customers experienced less-than-ideal service. Some customers reported feeling unwelcome or uncomfortable due to the attitudes of certain staff members. Additionally, there were instances where customers with young children had negative experiences with regards to the availability of highchairs. These incidents highlight the need for improved customer service and a more child-friendly approach from the staff.
The slow service was also mentioned as a weakness by one customer. While it was noted that the cafe was busy, it is important for the staff to ensure that they are efficient and attentive to avoid customers feeling frustrated or neglected.
Another weakness mentioned in a comment is the poor acoustics of the cafe, making it difficult for those with hearing impairments. This suggests that the cafe may need to explore solutions to improve the acoustics, such as implementing sound-absorbing materials or rearranging the seating arrangement.
In conclusion, Hagley Cafe Place has several strengths, including good quality food, friendly and accommodating staff, and a comfortable setting. However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as high prices, inconsistent service, slow service during busy periods, and poor acoustics. By addressing these weaknesses and focusing on improving the overall dining experience, the cafe has the potential to attract and retain satisfied customers.

Best TL Reviews

Not the cheapest place but I expect to pay a bit more for good quality. This was certainly good quality. We only had a couple of takeaway breakfast sandwiches and coffees but the sandwiches were the best we'd had in years. The staff were friendly taking our order and didn't mind me asking for my sandwich done in a specific way either. Really accommodating, really good quality food, tasty egg, lovely sausages and beautiful, fresh bread. Will definitely stop again when we're next passing.
Beautifully cooked full English breakfast with pot of tea for one.
Excellent quality ingredients with a comprehensive choice. Swift, polite and helpful service.
Warm welcome, really friendly staff and delicious food!
Nice decor, popped in here as i was hungry. I ordered the steak which was cooked on a panini press and served with a side of baked beans. Not had it before but I must admit it was very nice. the problem came when I leant back and my jacket caught fire, not one person in the place told me I was alight! it was only when the fire alarm went off that i noticed and the waitress poured a vase of water over my back....much to my surprise. The saving grace was Graham from the kitchen who sewed my coat up, free of charge. Thanks guys I will be back with a flame retardant suit!!
Met with a frosty reception when we asked for 2 highchairs. The lady serving us was passive agressive, and asked where we planned to place the highchairs, almost making a scene. Feeling uncomfortable, I asked where she would like the chairs placed as I sensed an undertone that she wasn't happy with where they were. It was a bit odd, and created a tense atmosphere with people starring. After taking our order , and walking away both me and my friend commented how she had made us feel uncomfortable. The food was nice, but the service took away from the whole experience. Such as shame as we have been supporting this local cafe for over 6 years, but was not so welcomed with our 2 year old son. Such a shame as the food was nice.
I went back 3 months later to see, if perhaps, this feedback had been taken on board and things had improved as I would love to support a local business...
I sat down with my husband, friend, and our 2 little boys. We asked if 2 highchairs were available, and were told both were fine to use. Both were placed in a high chair and we ordered our food. Ten minutes later we were asked to remove one of our children from the high chair as someone had pre booked a chair 5 mins before we came in. Yet again, made to feel very uncomfortable. The lady couldn't even look me in the eye as she herself knew this was completely inappropriate. This is the 2nd time we have been made to feel like this. Very obviously not child friendly. No real warmth or apology either by the staff.
I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but how foolish was I!!! Also, £30 down! Don't be complacent with your existing customer base. Please alter your attitude as I have felt humiliation on 2 occasions by the way you have treated my family. The cafe opposite have always been so very welcoming in comparison.
Eggs Royale.... pretty good.
Full English.... Yum Yum.
Carrot cake afterwards.... the best!
Comfortable setting with friendly service albeit a little slow (although it was rather busy).
Would recommend.
Nice place, staff friendly, but service needs improvement. Food not great and imo overpriced for what you get. Acoustics aren't great so hard of hearing may stuggle. Seems to be popular with older people.
Lovely light lunch there today - half sandwich, side salad and crisps. Very tasty and just enough.
