Quick Facts About Gusto Italian

Gusto Italian place has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to note that these comments represent individual experiences and may not reflect the overall quality of the restaurant.
Starting with the strengths, Gusto Italian place offers a traditional menu with some exotic items, providing variety for customers. The quality of the food is generally high, with positive comments about the taste and presentation of dishes. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The decor of the venue is also praised, with mentions of it being worthy of note and suitable for intimate meals in the evening. The atmosphere is generally described as great, with nicely decorated areas and good lighting. The selection of food and beer is also highlighted as a positive aspect of the restaurant.
However, there are several weaknesses that are mentioned in the comments. One major concern is the COVID dining arrangements. Despite the appearance of tables being spaced apart, there are complaints about the lack of enforcement of social distancing measures and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Some guests mention dirty plates, cutlery, and tables, which raises concerns about hygiene. There is also a complaint about the restaurant not taking contact details for tracing purposes, which is seen as a basic step that should be enforced.
Another weakness mentioned is the service. While there are positive comments about some waitresses trying their best and the service being great in some cases, there are also complaints about sluggish service and feeling neglected in certain instances. Long waiting times for attention and inconsistent quality of service are mentioned. Additionally, there are suggestions that food may not be freshly cooked, with comments about quick food arrival raising doubts about the freshness and quality of the dishes. It is also mentioned that the portion sizes have reduced significantly since reopening from lockdown, which may be seen as a negative for some customers.
The pricing of the food is criticized, with comments about the overpriced nature of the dishes for the quality received. There are specific complaints about the lasagne being of ready-meal quality and swimming in oil, which suggests inconsistency in food preparation and presentation. Another criticism is directed towards the staff's lack of emotional intelligence, including occasional swearing in front of children, which is seen as conflicting with the class and service the venue aims to provide.
In conclusion, Gusto Italian place has strengths in terms of its menu variety, food quality, friendly staff, and pleasant atmosphere. However, there are notable weaknesses related to the COVID dining arrangements, service, pricing, and consistency of food. These weaknesses should be addressed by the restaurant in order to improve customer experiences and instill confidence in dining at the venue.

Best TL Reviews

I fully accept that the the restaurant / hospitality industry is trying to get back on its feet, but this really was a poor experience and it seems that Gusto West Bridgford have a long way to go if they are going to make a success of trading (post-covid) and instil consumer confidence for dining at their venue.
COVID DINING ARRANGEMENTS:
In terms of COVID dining arrangements, the tables 'appear' to be at substantial distances apart and there were lots of arrows within the restaurant directing one-way movement - but this unfortunately, is as far as it goes. Upon arrival, our contact details (for tracing purposes) were not taken which is a basic and simple step that the majority of venues are enforcing.
Staff appeared nonchalant and not overly concerned with maintaining social distances as they raced across the restaurant and there was no evidence that the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was any real priority. The plate my pizza arrived on appeared dirty. Cutlery (despite being wrapped in a thick serviette) were not clean and the table opposite us was left for over 20 minutes before dirty plates were taken away and the surface cleaned.
SERVICE & FOOD:
Service was sluggish (despite some of the waitresses genuinely trying their best, rushing around to serve) Ultimately we didn't feel cared for and were conveniently sat in a corner where it was easier for staff to 'forget' we were there. We waited over 15 minutes for any attention, and ordered drinks along with food as soon as we able to.
Food arrived very quick, which ultimately makes you question if the food is actually cooked 'fresh' or whether the kitchen is merely a 'conveyor belt' for heating up pre-made meals.
The food here is over-priced for the quality you receive. The calamari starter was OK, while the Pizza was quite tasty (when you take away the apparent dirty place) the lasagne though looked more like that of a ready-meal quality (photos attached) and was a mess of inconsistent soggy layers and was swimming in oil.
As a result Gusto, West Bridgford seems totally devoid and indifferent to providing a quality experience, either with regards to food and drink, ambience, or service. Such experiences undermine the industry as a whole and those restaurants that are working harder to continue to operate efficiently whilst providing value for money during difficult times when the government is trying to encourage the general public to dine out. Avoid at all costs!
Had breakfast here, the menu was both traditional with some more exotic items. The quality of the food was high and despite being short staffed it arrived quickly. I had some fresh orange juice that tasted genuinely of oranges.
The decore of the venue is worthy of note. I could definitely see myself returning for a more intimate meal in the evening.
I took a star off as the staff seemed to lack a little emotional intelligence, swearing occasionally when children were around. Not normally a big deal but the venue sells itself on class and service.
The food was really nice. Staff was also very friendly. Really nice atmosphere. Will definitely be going back again.
Great quality of food, however portion size seems to have reduced significantly since reopening from lockdown. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Service was GREAT! Was a little disappointed with the main - seemed to be quite bland (carbonara pasta). Wouldn't have been too impressed if I paid full price, but luckily it was Eat Out to Help Out!
Lovely place with friendly staff. Nice place for brunch on a Sunday morning.
Great atmosphere and nicely decorated, great lighting and the conservatory area is awesome. Great food and beer selection!
Really mouthwatering and extensive menu. Wonderful service. Served by the lovely Raj this evening and had a great meal out.
