Quick Facts About Hair News
Hair News Place appears to have both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, it is evident that the salon has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Multiple comments mention the polite and professional behavior of the owners and hairdressers, making customers feel comfortable and appreciated. This is an important quality for a salon as it sets the tone for the overall experience.
Another strength of Hair News Place is its affordability. Many customers mention the reasonable prices for services provided, such as haircuts, washes, styling, and even balayage. This makes the salon accessible to a wider range of customers who may be looking for quality services at a lower cost. Additionally, the quick turnaround time for appointments is seen as a positive aspect by some customers who appreciate the efficiency and convenience.
There are also positive comments about specific hairdressers at Hair News Place. Christine, in particular, receives praise for her skill in providing customers with the exact haircut they desired. Customers appreciate her attention to detail and the fact that she was able to deliver the desired result in a short amount of time. Likewise, Jay is mentioned positively for her efficiency and the ability to understand and cater to the specific needs and preferences of customers with short hair.
However, there are also several weaknesses that are highlighted in the comments. One common complaint is a lack of attention to detail. Customers mention that their haircuts were rushed, resulting in uneven and blotchy results. Some complain of their hair not being curled correctly or not receiving the desired style. This lack of attention to detail can be frustrating for customers, especially when they have paid a significant amount for the service.
Another significant weakness mentioned is the lack of expertise in certain areas. One customer specifically mentions a disastrous experience with a balayage, where their hair was dyed too dark and with uneven highlights. There is also a complaint about a lack of knowledge in the technique and resulting in the destruction of the customer's hair. These experiences indicate a potential weakness in the salon's ability to provide more complex hair services and ensure customer satisfaction.
Sanitation practices are also mentioned as a concern. One customer notes that they did not observe any sanitization of tools or equipment between customers. This raises questions about the salon's hygiene standards and may be off-putting for some customers who prioritize cleanliness and safety.
In conclusion, while Hair News Place has strengths such as a welcoming atmosphere, affordable prices, and skilled hairdressers in specific areas, it also has weaknesses in terms of attention to detail, expertise in certain services, and sanitation practices. These weaknesses may pose challenges in maintaining a consistent level of quality and customer satisfaction.

It was my first time getting a haircut here and after a long time of researching different salons in the area, I decided to book an appointment at hair news. Everyone was very welcoming and kind when I walked in and my lovely hairdresser, Christine asked me what kind of haircut I wanted. I asked her for a 2-3 inches off, long soft layers, and curtain bangs and she immediately started analyzing and cutting. The whole process was pretty quick, about 20 minutes to get my haircut and I’m in love with how my hair looks! It’s been such a long time since I got a haircut and she did a great job giving me exactly what I wanted! It was $35 total including the haircut, hair wash (which I opted out on, but it is included), and hair styling! I think I found my new hairdresser! Thank you for a great experience! :)
I tagged along with my boyfriend to his haircut appointment, expecting it to take 30 minutes to an hour, but we went in and out of the place in 11 minutes! I asked him if his appointments were always quick and he said they were. The owners are incredibly polite and professional and I’m glad they did such a good job! I may get my haircut here soon :)
Do NOT go here to get a balayage. She does not know the technique and will destroy your hair. I usually spend around $600 at another place that does a fantastic job. Jay said she was only going to charge me $300. I figured it was worth a shot given the price difference. I was sorely wrong.... Very wrong. I asked for an ashy beige lived in balayage and she dyed my entire head with grey highlights. She did not only make my hair go multiple shades darker but also lifted my black natural hair to a brassy reddish color. It's also so uneven and blotchy. I see harsh lines everywhere.
In addition, she was so rough and fast that she tore out my newly pierced earring. I also did not see her sanitize one single thing in between customers. I look like an old granny with grey highlights and a red brassy base. I'm so upset as it took me so long to lift my hair to where it was and now it's so dark!
Very awful experience with this hair salon. Both hairdressers jay and christine are very sloppy at attention to details. I asked for a c-curl perm and showed a bunch of examples of what I wanted to look like. Christine said easy and started it right away. I asked about the price and she was like around 270 but I asked if she could bring it down a little since it was my first time. She said sure thing, and brought it down to 240. After 3 hours of waiting, she finally finished but everything was done in the matter of a rush and didn’t really pay attention to have all the hair curled correctly. Some of my hair was still straight after i came home and checked. She thinned out so much of my hair that it made it look very very visible for where the layers are and it was like a size of a dime when you tied it together. During check out, she put in the price of 270 and I asked her what about the discount and she was very sure of that was price and didn’t remember anything about the discount. I was ready to throw a fit when i really just spend over 300 dollars cuz of tip for this bad of a service. Pls read your reviews because they are all telling you not to come here.
By the way, Jay also did my mom’s hair and she came home looking literally like she had a bowl placed on her head and traced it. Jay left maybe about 2 inch of bangs and a very very short bob cut. I could not believe what I just saw with my own mother’s hair looking like literal mushroom head. Pls for the sake of your time and money, go somewhere else.
They let me to walk in on a workday afternoon, though I recommend to make appointment.
Christine cut my hair, she is very friendly and nice but the haircut was just ok. I called back 2 days later to ask if they can trim it better. Jane offered to fix it with no charge. The hair looks way better after she fixed it.
I will come back but only ask for Jane in the future.
I had a awful experience at this place ! I brought a picture and video even to show her what I want ! She said “easy “ . But turn out She got me really bad hair style not even close to that picture! Cut my hair very short can’t fix it after that ! She give each haircuts only 20 mins. Too short time to Design details. No layers. Not professional at all ! Just a little bit hair shape to get the money ! Never go back again!
J was doing great for my short hair for months. She is efficient and always understands me well. I like her a lot!
Was looking for an Asian hair salon. Called to make an appointment the day of (but it looks like walk ins are accepted as well) for a hair cut. The price seemed very fair for a shampoo/wash, haircut, and style/blow dry - $35. Jay was outstanding. Highly recommended!
