Quick Facts About Lashings Bar & Grill
Lashings Bar & Grill is a popular sports bar located on the outskirts of Maidstone town center. It offers a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of sections within the venue, allowing customers to engage in activities other than just watching sports. Additionally, there are dining options available, a selection of cocktails, and two pool tables.
One of the strengths of Lashings Bar & Grill is its atmosphere. Multiple reviewers mentioned that it has a great atmosphere for those who enjoy lager, sports on television, and playing pool. The locals are described as friendly, creating a welcoming environment for guests.
Another strength highlighted by reviewers is the ability to bring outside food into the bar. There are several takeaway places in the area, and Lashings Bar & Grill allows customers to bring their food in without any issues. This flexibility is appreciated by many patrons.
Furthermore, Lashings Bar & Grill receives praise for its Christmas Day meal. Reviewers mentioned that the Christmas meal was awesome and offered fantastic value for money. This positive experience showcased the establishment's ability to deliver high-quality food and service during special occasions.
In terms of service, many customers commented on the great staff at Lashings Bar & Grill. They found the service prompt and friendly, and the staff members themselves were described as nice. This positive interaction adds to the overall positive experience of visiting the bar.
Reasonable prices were also mentioned as a positive aspect of Lashings Bar & Grill. Several reviewers noted that the prices were reasonable, making it an affordable option for patrons looking for a night out.
However, there are a few weaknesses that were identified by reviewers. One common criticism is the lack of ale options on tap. Lashings Bar & Grill only offers lagers, which limits the choices for beer enthusiasts who prefer ales. Additionally, some guests mentioned that there were no food options available apart from crisps, which could be disappointing for those looking for a meal.
The size and condition of the toilets were also noted as a weakness. Reviewers described the toilets as small and dingy, suggesting that there may be a need for improvement in this area.
Another criticism mentioned by a reviewer is the lack of knowledge of a staff member. The reviewer noted that one of the bar staff did not know what an IPA (India Pale Ale) is. This lack of knowledge might affect the ability of the staff to make appropriate recommendations and provide a well-rounded experience for beer enthusiasts.
Furthermore, some reviewers commented on the quietness of the bar during the day, particularly on a Saturday afternoon. This could be viewed as a weakness for those seeking a livelier atmosphere during the day.
The bar's seating area, which opens onto Stone Street, was described as both a blessing and a curse. While the open patio allows for fresh air flow, it is tainted with exhaust fumes due to the busy road nearby. The constant noise from passing trucks, buses, and cars might also affect the overall enjoyment of the outdoor seating area.
Finally, a reviewer mentioned that patrons tend to be heavily intoxicated by the time they arrive at Lashings Bar & Grill, potentially affecting the overall atmosphere of the establishment.
In conclusion, Lashings Bar & Grill has several strengths, including its relaxed atmosphere, varied sections within the venue, and the allowance of outside food. The Christmas Day meal and overall good service were also mentioned positively. However, it faces some weaknesses, such as a limited selection of ales on tap, a lack of food options apart from crisps, small and dingy toilets, and occasional gaps in staff knowledge. The quietness during the day, the outdoor seating area's exposure to noise and exhaust fumes, and the potential for heavily intoxicated customers were also mentioned as minor drawbacks. Despite these weaknesses, Lashings Bar & Grill offers a good sports bar experience with friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Best TL Reviews
Lashings is a nice sports bar just on the outskirts of Maidstone town centre. The atmosphere is relaxed and the Venue is split into sections so you do not have to just watch sports. There is dining available, cocktails and there are two pool tables.
The bad: No Ales, only lagers on tap. No food apart from crisps these days. Toilets are small and dingy. The girl behind the bar didn't know what an IPA is.
The good: If you like lager, sports on the telly and pool, it's a great place and the locals are quite friendly. Also you can go to the many takeaway places in the area and bring your food in and no one bats an eyelid.
Awesome Christmas Day meal and fantastic value for money too. We loved it!
Great service and I'd definitely recommend.
The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it! We were all impressed.
A good sports bar with plenty of television's. Good, reasonable priced food served late into the night. It's quite quiet during the day but gets busy Friday and Saturday night. Friendly bar staff.
A brief visit, the pub was clean and tidy, but also very quiet - we were the only customers at the time! (13:30ish on a Saturday) The drinks were average prices for a pub; that is to say expensive, but the service was prompt and friendly. I think food is served there in the evening, but if it's anything like the drink prices, I'd rather eat at a 'Spoons. The main seating area has a 'Patio' that opens onto Stone street - which is both a blessing and a curse; there's air flow, but it's tainted with exhaust fumes and there's the perpetual noise of trucks, buses and cars driving by.
Open as late as you like and the staff are nice but people tend to be pretty far gone by the time they're there.
Great atmosphere and great staff. prices were reasonable too
Good staff, reasonable prices, good for sports. Toilets could do with updating.
