A very friendly and welcoming local card and board game store.
I have been a regular attendee for their Magic the Gathering nights for several years now and have found fellow players and Alan the store Manager, to be very friendly and supportive in teaching me the game and making me feel part of the store's community of players.
For people wanting to try out board games or to begin their Magic the Gathering journey in Staines or the surrounding area, I would highly recommend visiting the store and chatting with the staff and players. They are always happy to teach you how to play the game.
My bf stopped here on a trip a few months ago and literally can’t stop talking about how much fun he had looking for some Magic cards and talking with the man that worked there.
Mostly he can’t stop talking about the good conversation with the worker, like about “Florida man”. And the whole groups enjoyment of each other’s accents. So new fear unlocked that he’s gonna leave me for an accent ????.
Great local gaming store. Huge selection of board and card games. Staff are great and love supporting a local business. Not yet attended a magic the gathering night but with how welcoming the staff are I am sure I will be at one soon
A really genuine and friendly local gaming store.
The crowd is very welcoming. It's getting harder to find a local gaming shop that runs well-organized structured activities throughout the week. However, The missing geek does a fantastic job. With great ownership and staff as well.
Great shop in Staines with an upstairs area to play games. Very inviting with a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Excellent customer service.
We spent a few hours at the Missing Geek and loved the set up. We were spoilt for choice of card games to play. The only issue was some of the male customers have not washed for months. The place smelt so bad of BO we felt sick. I want to thank the customrs that smelt of BO. I am always telling my son about good personal hygiene. Now he has experienced what I have been trying to tell him. This is a fantastic place!!
Great for board games, card games and tabletop miniature games (Warhammer etc). The owner has (to me) unparalleled information about the games and what he doesn't know doesn't seem to be worth knowing.
That along with competitions and friendly conversations i wouldn't go anywhere else.
If your looking for more obscure games call ahead just incase.
Great gaming cafe. My girlfriend( 71/2 months pregnant none board game player) enjoyed it and said "felt comfortable, and thought it was had a warm friendly atmosphere") We played 2 different games, and much to my surprise my girlfriend was happy to send 4 hours here! Alan was helpful suggesting games, guiding us through the rules of the unfamiliar games. There are teas(wide selection) and coffee, for a very reasonable price, plus a small selection of edibles. I myself was a slightly more hardcore board gamer in my youth, Alan was able to discuss virtually every game I have played and enjoyed. From this Alan was able to suggest, other games I/we might like. We bought one of the games and left after a toughly enjoyed afternoon/evening.
