Quick Facts About Le Caprice

Le Caprice is a restaurant with a mix of strengths and weaknesses, as indicated by the comments provided. In terms of strengths, the restaurant has received positive comments about its starters, dessert, and service. Additionally, the ambiance and atmosphere have been described positively by multiple customers. The restaurant also offers a good selection for vegetarians and has clean and tidy toilets. Some customers have mentioned enjoying the Sunday Jazz night and the variety of food options available, including sushi and pancakes.
One of the standout strengths mentioned is the beautiful Art Deco interior, which adds character to the restaurant and provides a charming atmosphere. Many customers appreciate the elegant and unassuming ambiance that the restaurant offers. The professional and excellent service provided has also been commended, with some customers mentioning that the restaurant has a good staff and is well-run.
On the other hand, there are some weaknesses or areas of improvement that have been pointed out. One customer mentioned that the tuna served as a starter was not of sufficient quality to be served raw. Another customer found the main course to be boring, although not necessarily bad. The mention of a set menu with a "cover charge" in small print was seen as cheeky by one customer, suggesting that the pricing and transparency could be improved.
There were also mentions of loud, drunk business men at a table, which disrupted the evening for one customer. Additionally, a customer mentioned receiving big ice cubes instead of crushed ice for cocktails, which did not fit in the glass and caused amusement. Although the pricing was mentioned to be appropriate by one customer, another commented on the expensive menu and unappealing options, such as lambs' testes on rice for a high price.
One particularly negative comment mentioned that the customer had to wait 25 minutes with menus before leaving, as the service was not prompt enough. The mention of the chef having to reach a fire alarm on a stool due to smoke in the kitchen does not paint a positive picture of the restaurant either.
In conclusion, Le Caprice has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. The restaurant benefits from its appealing interior, good service, enjoyable ambiance, and positive comments about some dishes. However, improvements could be made in terms of the quality of certain dishes, pricing transparency, promptness of service, and managing disruptive customers.

Best TL Reviews

It's an OK restaurant.
The starters were fine, although the tuna we had wasn't of sufficient quality to be served raw in my opinion. The main was boring, but not bad. The dessert was quite good.
The service is good, I think they're actually a bit overstaffed.
A bit cheeky having a set menu with a "cover charge" in small print, I think that's a bit silly. Just price it upfront and let people compare fairly. The pricing is appropriate either way.
One of the best restaurants in all London. Beautiful Art Deco interior, fabulous food, great service. Book Princess Diana’s favourite corner table if you can get it. This is urbane but unassuming elegance at its very finest.
Well run and good staff. Very solid Sunday roast and brunch. Good mixture of foods from sushi to pancakes (but I have to say I didn't particularly like the pancakes). Well established and no surprises.
Very likeable environment with excellent food and pleasant staff. I had the veal which was amazing and finished with the chocolate fondant which was very tasty. A jazz trio played soft music, lifting the mood even higher. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a good dinner in a charming place!
Great service... beautiful food... and the atmosphere was just amazing! Definitely recommend the Sunday Jazz night!
Went here with a lady friend. It was just a fantastic lunch. Very good food, excellent, professional service, and a pleasant ambiance.
Food was very good and a great selection for vegetarians.
The decor is a bit old fashion but it gives some character to the restaurant.
The atmosphere was good but a very loud table of drunk business men in the middle of the restaurant spoiled our evening as it was distracting.
Nice place to meet for a date and a small group of friends.
Service was good although we requested crushed ice and we got big ice cubes for a cocktail, they did not fit in the glass... It gave us a laugh thou.
Cocktails were very nice.
Toilets were clean and tidy.
I would recommend to book in advance.
We took a cab because parking can be a problem.
One star is too generous to describe our experience tonight...very expensive menu, most of it quite un appealing, and wine £12 for 125ml Chianti Lambs testes on rice £17.00 are you kidding! Propped up on bar stools like a school canteen and to cap it all the smoke created in the kitchen set the fire alarm! The chef nearly broke his neck climbing on a stool to reach the fire alarm. Sat waiting with menus for 25mins before walking out. Never, never, never again. The revues on here must have been in a different era or a different planet.
Angry of London.
