Quick Facts About Micky's Chippy

Micky's Chippy place, based on the comments provided, has both strengths and weaknesses that can be analyzed.
Starting with the strengths, one recurring positive aspect mentioned in the comments is the delicious taste of the food. Multiple customers specifically praise the traditional Chinese flavors and express their love for the meals prepared at Micky's Chippy place. This indicates that the restaurant has successfully maintained the authenticity and flavor of Chinese cuisine.
Another strength highlighted in the reviews is the cleanliness of the establishment. Customers mention that the place is spotless, providing reassurance that the food being consumed is of good quality. A clean environment is essential for any dining experience, as it contributes to the overall perception of hygiene and the trust that customers have in the establishment.
Additionally, the longevity of Micky's Chippy place is mentioned as a strength in one of the comments. Being in the same location for over 30 years suggests that they have a loyal customer base and have managed to maintain a consistent level of service and food quality over a long period of time. This indicates that they must be doing something right to have survived in the competitive restaurant industry for so long.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one of the most significant criticisms is the greasiness of the food. Multiple customers express their dissatisfaction with the excessive amount of oil and grease present in the chips, curry sauce, and other dishes. This not only affects the taste of the food but also raises concerns about the quality of the cooking oil and the thoroughness of the frying process.
Another weakness mentioned is the inconsistency in the portion sizes and the quality of certain dishes. One customer complained about receiving a small portion of BBQ ribs, while another mentioned that the chips were undercooked. Inconsistency in portion sizes and quality can lead to customer dissatisfaction and a lack of trust in the restaurant's ability to deliver consistently good food.
There are also comments about specific menu items not meeting expectations. The curry sauce is described as watery and lacking flavor in one comment, while another customer claims that the fish was inedible due to excessive grease. These specific instances highlight potential weaknesses in the quality control and preparation processes of Micky's Chippy place.
Finally, the lack of flexibility mentioned by one customer is another weakness. They mentioned that the owner becomes grumpy when asked to cook something not on the menu. This inflexibility can lead to a poor customer experience and limit the restaurant's ability to cater to individual preferences or dietary requirements.
In conclusion, Micky's Chippy place has strengths in terms of delicious food, a clean environment, and longevity in the industry. However, weaknesses are evident in the excessive greasiness, inconsistency in portion sizes and quality, specific menu items not meeting expectations, and the lack of flexibility when it comes to customer requests. Addressing these weaknesses would be crucial for Micky's Chippy place to improve and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Best TL Reviews

Beautiful traditional Chinese! Love their food! Just something about them makes it taste great!
Added their menu so can see what to order. Special fried rice is amazing!
It is difficult to explain how awful the food we had from this place was. I should have bailed out when I asked for chips and gravy to be told we don't do gravy. The chips were soft, greasy, cooked in fat that wasn't hot enough. The most greasy chips I have ever seen to the point that when I unwrapped them they had congealed into a solid mass of greasy pieces of potato. The curry sauce which I opted for in the absence of gravy was slightly runnier than water. The sausage which was microwaved and then deep fried in the 'not hot enough' frier was grim.... and guess what...it was very greasy!
We ordered three meals. All three went in the conveniently placed bin just down the road from the shop.
Without doubt the most appalling excuse for a chip shop I have ever experienced. Do yourself a favour, don't waste your money, and never, ever visit this place.
In case you are in any doubt I do NOT recommend this chip shop.
Not like it was before as I haven't been here for years, ordered small bbq ribs for £5 didn't think too expensive until I opened silver container there was 5 ribs about 1 too 1.5 inches long with a watery sauce.
The chips were undercooked and very greasy.
The special chow mein was a 2 out of 10.
Honestly go somewhere else very poor for the money it costs.
Try the Golden Wok Churchill Centre much better not the cheapest, but when eat the food you get what you pay for and feel satisfied and the chips are awesome.
Lovely fresh food. Prefer to eat from this chippy than any other in Redditch. The Chinese Currie's are soo nice. The place itself is spotless so you know the food you're eating is good. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. They cook certain things fresh so it's best to pre order if you don't want to wait. It's Ashame they don't do deliveries but I only live round the corner so easy for me to walk to
Extremely greasy overcooked food.. the batter is terrible and if you ask for anything he hasn't got he will not cook it for you just gets grumpy. Battered sausages and scallops are horrible even if they have just been made. Made me extremely sick after eating what I could from here.. shame it used to be nice back in the day
Been in the same location for over 30 years
Nice food friendly owners
The chips were just about edible but the fish was terrible couldn't eat it, I took food home and it was like opening up a bag of grease, both fish and chips were swimming in grease and as for the curry sauce even that had a layer of grease on top of it and didn't taste much like chip shop curry sauce.
I can only assume that the fryers are not hot enough, the oil is bad or they don't let the fryers heat up properly before cooking food which is why all the food is saturated with oil/grease and not to mention a huge food safety issue due to the risk of undercooked food
If they can't be a good fish and chips shop and provide good quality chip shop food then they should just stick to Chinese food
I never leave reviews but on this occasion I feel I have no choice. I placed a large order. The House special curry was powdery, the rice was rock hard and dry, couldn't even put a fork into it. The sweet and sour balls were so burnt you couldn't even bite into them and the chicken was so dry. Never again. If I could give 0 I would 1 star is being polite.
