Quick Facts About Moonlight

Moonlight Place, a dessert shop in Manchester, has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from its customers. In analyzing these comments, we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
One of the major strengths that repeatedly comes up in the comments is the quality of the ice cream. Customers have described it as the best in Manchester and have praised the diverse range of flavors available. This indicates that Moonlight Place excels in creating delicious and varied ice cream options, which is a key factor in attracting and satisfying customers.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the friendly and polite staff. Customers have appreciated their hospitality and the fact that they go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. This positive interaction with the staff contributes to a pleasant dining experience and encourages customers to return.
The gesture of appreciation from one of the personnel, who brought additional food and a smoke bomb to the table, left customers speechless and impressed. This act exemplifies Moonlight Place's commitment to going above and beyond for their customers and creating a memorable experience.
The beautiful decorations and stylish atmosphere of Moonlight Place are also mentioned as positives. Customers enjoy the aesthetically pleasing ambiance and find the seating comfortable. The decor adds to the overall experience and contributes to a positive impression of the establishment.
However, there are also weaknesses mentioned by customers that need to be addressed. One recurring issue is the lack of organization and efficiency in the ordering process. Customers have reported confusion and frustration with the system, leading to longer waiting times and mistakes in their orders. This lack of organization detracts from the overall customer experience and needs to be addressed to improve customer satisfaction.
Some customers have also expressed disappointment with the taste and quality of certain desserts. Rubbery and chewy crepes, tasteless ice cream, and hard baklava were mentioned as examples of subpar items. Consistency in the quality of food is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction, and Moonlight Place should address these concerns and ensure the highest quality in all of their offerings.
Another weakness mentioned is the shrinking portion sizes, despite the relatively high prices. Customers expect value for their money and may feel dissatisfied when they perceive a decrease in portion sizes without a corresponding decrease in prices. This issue may lead customers to explore other dessert options in Manchester that offer better value.
In addition to these weaknesses, the lack of response and engagement from the owners in addressing customer complaints is mentioned. This lack of communication can give the impression that the establishment is not interested in resolving customer concerns and can contribute to negative reviews and loss of customers. Moonlight Place should prioritize responding and engaging with customer feedback to show that they value their customers' opinions and are willing to address any issues that arise.
Overall, Moonlight Place has strengths in its delicious ice cream, friendly staff, and appealing atmosphere. However, it also faces weaknesses in its organization, consistency in taste and quality, portion sizes, and lack of response to customer complaints. By addressing these weaknesses, Moonlight Place can improve the overall customer experience and maintain its reputation as a go-to dessert shop in Manchester.

Best TL Reviews

Hands down- the best ice cream in Manchester. There's lots of flavours to choose from. Staff is very polite and lovely.
There was a misunderstanding regarding our order (only because we didn't know what to expect) but there was no faulty with it whatsoever. One of the personnel came to our table to ask if everything's ok with our order and if it's not he'll be happy to give us something else with no charge.
We said there's no need for that, the ice cream was amazing and we're happy with the order, there's nothing wrong with it. However, 15 minutes later there is the same gentleman approaching our table with waffles with Nutella (2portions) and bananas and ice creams AND a smoke bomb. Me and my brother were absolutely shocked as we haven't complained nor we thought that order was not good.
The gentleman said he likes to make his costumers happy and that this was his gesture of appreciation.
This is the first time something like that happened to me and it truly left me speechless.
This is a true meaning of going above and beyond for a costumers.
I want to say thank you once again for the hospitality and for this beautiful gesture.
I'll come back with my family and I definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes the ice cream as much as I do.
Beautiful decorations. Brownies were very hot, gooey and rich. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a good brownie in Manchester!
Superb. Fantastic assortment of sweets and ice creams and big helpings, too! Great smoke bomb on table, source of great amusement and speculation. Service could not be better, all done with not so much a smile as a great big grin, even though we were finicky customers. I had to go back a second time and I know there will be many more to come.
What an absolute mess this place was. Every time we went past this dessert shop, there would be a line right out the door, and I'd always think, "Wow, this place must be really good." Is it heck. There was no organisation, if like me and my family it was your first time there, you'd have no idea what the heck you should be doing. So basically, they have a "system" where you line up to order at the till, and when you have, they give you a table number to take wherever you sit. We stupidly left the line to find a table to sit at, so a couple of us had to rejoin it outside. Our desserts took 45 minutes, and when we got them, they had given a milkshake instead of a Sundae my cousin ordered, so we had to wait another 5 minutes for that. The desserts did look super pretty. Too bad they didn't taste pretty. I ordered the Lotus Biscoff Crepe. It was rubbery and chewy. I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to it. For some reason, though, we were given cups of water before our desserts, which was a bit bizarre as we noticed no one else got any, but we appreciated the gesture. The place is very aesthetically pleasing, and from the outside, it looks good, but the madness is within.
Maybe whoever owns this place should hire more people so the ones that serve aren't running around like headless chickens.
My daughter loves going here so this time I decided to tag along. Nice decor which is great for all those who love selfie moments. I had ordered the baklava with green tea. Baklava was so hard and tea had a strange smell more like sea weed!!
The waffles were nothing special and I’ve cream was so tasteless!!
Too overrated and too expensive.
Not worth the long 25 min wait..
Hi,
Went to Rusholme yesterday for an evening meal then jumped into Moonlight for a desert to take back home and consume.
When I opened the bag I was disappointed to see that the cake & ice-cream portions sizes had shrunk!!.. and I paid nearly £7 for this. This was my GO-TO place for desert for the past 20 years, but with the growing number of options now available in Manchester, I think its time to try the competition.
I've also noticed a growing number of complaints & bad reviews listed on Google for Moonlight and the lack of response and engagement from Moonlight (owners). Looks like Moonlight has gone down hill and have lost there mojo!..Next-up Heavenly Desserts (also in Rusholme). Lets see if they can do better!!
Beautiful atmosphere always busy the decor is on point. The seating is very comfortable and colour coordination is very stylish and modern definitely a place I will keep going back to. The food ???? is brilliant and it's priced reasonable considering it's on the curry mile.
The good thing about Moonlight is that it opens till late and I mean 2am. Food choices are limited but the taste is good. What is not good is that there is only 1 till counter and with the amount of customers footfall they have it takes roughly 20 to 30 mins just to place an order and further hour to 90 mins to get the order to table. If they can address their order in take and speed up kitchen service no doubt they are worthy of 5 stars.
