Our Son wanted good old British Fish & Chips whilst visiting from Canada and we found Paul's through Google. Cooked to order it was as good as it gets. Crispy batter crispy chips with delicious flavour fish sausage and cods roe and it all looked perfect too. Great we got a beer with it too Thank you so much and well done.
Tucked in the front of the espenade hotel, had the most amazing gluten free fish and chips.
Perfect sized portions. Everything was cooked as you ordered. And they didn't mind us sitting out the front with our dog even brought her a bowl of water.
Lots to choose from food and drink wise.
Highly recommended
Such Brilliant service & such an easy comfortable restaurant to go to with lots of variety on the menu as well as doing gluten free options which is so helpful! All 7 of us really enjoyed our meals the taste of the chips are the best. 100% recommend to everyone xx
Good fish and chips family and child friendly. Got a medium fish and chips and the portion was huge along with onion rings and battered halloumi. Was delishous. Deffo recommend as a place to eat by clacton.
Poor service, staff arguing behind counter while i try to order food, saveloy cold, sat outside and was then told i had to go back in to collect my food even though they should bring it out to you. Clear favouritism between new guests and the locals, was told off for daring to use the ketchup outside the building only to find locals out in the garden having every condiment in the place.
Nice! Needs renaming, Fish and Chips at Esplanade Hotel I feel. We've eaten here on 3 occasions and each time it had a new name.. Paul's is the latest...
Nice food and caters for all dietary requirements including gluten. Batter was very nice. Unfortunately at the time of visiting they had very little stock and what was wanted was sadly unavailable hence the mark down. However despite this what they did have was cooked really well and would happily try again next time providing stock is replenished. Definitely worth a visit.
Went here for lunch this weekend and have to say it was absolutely delicious ????
Lovely chips and the fish was cooked to perfection. We ordered cod and chips X2 1 medium and 1 large ( large was extremely large) wing of skate and chips, battered sausage and chips and sav and chips. Curry sauce was nice however just a little bit watery but tasted fine. When ever we visit Clacton we always go here but recently under new ownership by Paul and I have to say it's even better than before, and the staff are especially polite and helpful. Thanks for a lovely meal guys.
