Quick Facts About Riley's Fish Bar

Riley's Fish Bar has received mostly positive comments, with many praising the quality and taste of their fish and chips. It is evident that their large fish and chips are generous in portion size, with one customer mentioning that they struggled to finish it all and would opt for a smaller portion next time. This suggests that Riley's offers value for money and generous servings.
Additionally, customers appreciate the selection of well-cooked food available at Riley's. This indicates that the establishment offers a variety of options and ensures that each dish is prepared to a high standard.
However, one comment mentions that Riley's can be slow at times when waiting for certain items. This can potentially be seen as a weakness, as customers may become frustrated if they have to wait for an extended period of time. Nonetheless, this issue can be resolved by pre-ordering, which is suggested as a solution in the comment.
Another positive aspect highlighted by a customer is that Riley's serves "proper" fish and chips, indicating that they adhere to the traditional preparation methods for this classic dish. This can be seen as a strength, as it demonstrates authenticity and a commitment to quality.
Furthermore, Riley's is praised for its friendly staff who cook the food fresh. The friendliness of the staff is noted by a customer, which can contribute to a positive dining experience. It is also worth mentioning that despite a small mishap with the staff not being accustomed to a certain preference (plain sausage without batter), the staff remained friendly and the food was still enjoyable. This further reinforces the positive impression of Riley's staff and customer service.
On the other hand, one comment highlights some negative aspects of Riley's Fish Bar. The customer states that the fish and chips they received seemed to have been kept warm for too long, resulting in chewy and tasteless fish with a cardboard-like batter. This is a significant criticism, as the taste and texture of the fish and batter are crucial components of a good fish and chips dish.
Another unfavorable comment states that the food at Riley's is very greasy. This can be seen as a weakness, as excessive greasiness can detract from the overall dining experience and make the food less enjoyable.
Lastly, one comment mentions that Riley's sells multipack cans as individual items. This can be seen as a weakness, as it can lead to confusion and dissatisfaction among customers who might expect to purchase single cans.
In conclusion, Riley's Fish Bar has several strengths, including the quality and taste of their fish and chips, friendly staff, a good selection of food, and fresh preparation. However, there are also weaknesses, such as potential delays in service, greasy food, and issues with the taste and texture of certain dishes. Despite these weaknesses, the overall impression of Riley's Fish Bar seems to be positive, with satisfied customers recommending it as one of the best in the area.

Best TL Reviews

I was recommended by a few people to try here. I had a large fish and chips with peas. Lovely big thick fish, It was excellent and struggled to eat all of it. Maybe a small fish and chips next time.
An excellent fish shop with a good selection of well cooked food. Can be a bit slow sometimes waiting for certain items but pre ordering solves the issue
Proper fish and chips from a proper fish and chip shop. This plaice (joke ????) has restored my faith in the local fish and chip shops. Fish and chips done how they should be done and not a smelly kebab or pizza to be seen. Word of warning, if you get large fish and chips just make sure you are hungry ???? best in the area ????
Good range of chippy foods
All are delicious.
Check opening times as they don't open every lunch time.
Friendly staff, food cooked fresh.
Very funny that as I'm from down south, we don't like everything covered in batter... Staff very surprised when I asked for a plain sausage "what ya mean you don't want batta"
But very friendly and food was worth wating for.
I think our fish had been kept warm for a while perhaps. The batter was a bit chewy/cardboard-like and the fish was tasteless being honest. Recommended to us. First visit, but wouldn't rush back as we didn't enjoy them. Expensive disappointment I'm afraid.
The best in miles first class food great range fresh hot great staff new items added on menu give it a go thinly battered only need to ask prices are up slightly with costs but good value for money
VERY greasy food. Sold multipack cans as individual items
