Quick Facts About Royal Piri Piri
Royal Piri Piri has several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. First, many people appreciate the originality of the restaurant and see it as a viable alternative to Nando's, a well-known and established Piri Piri chain. This highlights the appeal and uniqueness of the establishment.
Another strength mentioned by customers is the addictive nature of the house sauce. Customers enjoy the sauce as it adds flavor to the food without being overly spicy. This shows that Royal Piri Piri has successfully developed a sauce that caters to a wide range of tastes and enhances the overall dining experience.
The staff's recommendation of the steak is seen as a positive aspect by customers, as they appreciate the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff. This indicates that the employees are well-trained and can provide valuable guidance to customers in selecting their meals. The positive feedback regarding the staff suggests that they contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
However, there are also weaknesses of Royal Piri Piri that should be acknowledged. One common criticism is that the food quality has declined over the years. While some customers still find the food tasty, they do not find it as satisfying as before. Additionally, portion sizes have become smaller, and the quality of the chicken has decreased. This indicates that the restaurant may be compromising on the quality and quantity of their ingredients, which could impact customer satisfaction.
Another weakness highlighted by a customer is the varying quality of side dishes. The disappointing chips, which are described as thin, not crispy, and clearly from frozen, suggest that the restaurant may be neglecting these important components of the meal. Additionally, the mushy and bland rice is another letdown for customers. These subpar side dishes can detract from the overall dining experience and reduce the value for money that customers perceive.
Another critique of Royal Piri Piri is the presentation and preparation of certain dishes. One customer mentions that the chicken steak is cut up into little pieces, which is not the traditional presentation of a chicken steak. This may suggest a lack of attention to detail and could be seen as an attempt to hide or compensate for potential cooking issues. This can impact the perception of the restaurant's expertise and commitment to quality.
Moreover, a negative review highlights poor service and inconsistencies in the menu. The customer mentions stingy portions, a strange thick sauce covering the steak, and missing ingredients in the beef sizzler. These issues reflect a lack of attention to detail in the food preparation process, as well as potential communication and organization problems in the kitchen. Such shortcomings can significantly impact the overall dining experience and the perception of the restaurant's professionalism.
Furthermore, the fact that Royal Piri Piri does not accept card payments can be seen as a disadvantage. In an increasingly cashless society, not accepting card payments can inconvenience customers who may not always have cash on hand. However, it is worth noting that customers also appreciate the friendly and helpful nature of the staff, which partially offsets this inconvenience.
In conclusion, Royal Piri Piri has several strengths, such as its originality, addictive house sauce, and knowledgeable staff. However, weaknesses such as declining food quality, disappointing side dishes, and inconsistent preparation need to be addressed in order to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.

Very original and gives Nando’s a run for their money!
The house sauce is very addictive (not too hot) and compliments the food.
Staff have recommended the steak which I will be definitely trying on my next visit!
Food use to be better years ago, quality has changed i mean its still tasty but did not leave me wanting more like, portions gone smaller an the chicken quality has dropped
Nice food enjoyed it, bread rolls with sauce was just amazing ????
Best Piri Piri in town. Not to spicy not to bland. Bang on. All the meat is very tender and they all sauced up pretty well. The platters are amazing and staff is very friendly. Its a place to be if your in Oldham and definitely if you like Portugese food. Fast service. Perfect quality. You can’t go wrong ✌????
Absolutely vile. Portions were stingy. Steak cut in strips and drenched in a strange thick sauce. Beef sizzler had a single little slice of pepper when menu mentions plural peppers and chicken was not flavoursome. Just poor service and many items not available.
What I got: chicken steak with fries and rice.
Pros: Chicken steak is juicy. Portion size is okay. The sauce is tangy. The bread roll with butter is acceptable too.
Cons: the chips are disappointing - thin, not crispy, and clearly from frozen. The rice was mushy and not flavorful - you have to dump sauce on it. It’s not really a classic chicken steak as it is cut up into little pieces, which shows the chef looks inside to make sure the chicken is cooked (which it was - no complaints on that). The price point - I don’t think it’s worth the £15.
Food was lovely, service was great. Lots of families, great portions, got the frango as i used to get at Preston. Came quickly n saucy and full of flavour. They dont take card which is a downside but they were super friendly and helpful. Defo coming back.
As always amazing food. My family and i love this spot. Friendly staff and bread rolls to die for
