I have been going to this place since 2018 but what I've noticed is how prejudice they are towards me. I can't speak for others. I can only speak of my experience. There's two ways to express discrimination, overt and covert. I go there to get my brows done. My first experience was with the daughter and I promised never to return, but their price is reasonable, and there aren't to many eyebrow threading locations near me. Anyway, I walked in. The mother was doing someone's brow, so I gave her the benefit for not looking up when I walked in. Less than a minute later a woman walked in and she looked up and acknowledged her. Another woman walked in and she acknowledged her. Both women were Indian and both she asked them what they wanted done, without once looking at me who was in the same seating area. I am A-A. I kid you not, the woman acted like she didn't see me. The woman who was there before me, was called next by the mother (she was the only one doing brows at the time), as the mother got close to finishing up the lady, I noticed the woman who came in after me, got up and started moving towards the seat next to the mother. The woman never asked me if I was next. I politely let her know I was next. The mother still never addressed me. It's like I was invisible to her, so when I sat down in the chair next to her, after the lady sat back down, I said hello and made small talk with the mother. It was now time for me to pay. The mother was behind the cash register. She took the money from a customer in front of me and was very polite and cordial. When it came my turn, she started engaging with an elderly Indian man who was standing on the other side of the counter. I thought he was paying for a service but realize he was doing business with her. She then realized it made more sense to serve me because whatever he needed would have taken time. She then turned to me and took my money with zero interaction and barely said thank you. As stated, I have been going there on and off since 2018. The experience with the daughter was very similar covert level of discrimination. Don't need a third strike, I'm done.
Horrible service! I waited 30 mins for eyebrow threading. They took customers who came after me. The girl who did my brows were very polite but the big lady was so rude. And all she doing was cursing the owner out loud for looking in camera whole day. I absolutely never recommend anyone to go there.
I have been coming to the salon for years and have had only the best experience. Particularly, over the last year, Misha has cut and styled my hair and supported me with being comfortable with graying hair. I have always found her to be attentive and respectful of my needs. She's never pushed me to do anything I did not want. Her suggestions for treatments, styles and stying products have always worked to my advantage. I find that I can ask her questions and always get explanations that are sound and professional. The prices are reasonable and the service is timely. Its a busy place so its best to take an appointment. You will be well served. I know that I always walk out of the salon after a service, looking like a better version of myself.
Went for the first time with a few family members during a weekday . It appears wide open, airy and seems clean. The prices seem inflated, but it was our first time. There was a greeter who said there would be a few minute wait chatting on the phone and a barber who’s legs were so spread out that one could not unsee the holes in his pants. The complete apathy these people had makes it seem like they are doing us a favor by speaking to us. The customer service was so poor and so disappointing we just ended up walking out. They also lost five customers who will spread this experience by word of mouth as well. I would find the older salons down the road - while Indian businesses aren’t necessarily known for the best customer service, but certainly not this poor. I hope the owners see this and take the criticism seriously - the place looks like it has good potential.
The lady that cut my hair did a terrible job. I repeatedly asked to not go shorter but I left with half my length. The face framing cut is not even on both sides. I will go somewhere else to get this fixed. I went to Manal who said if she gave me a bad cut she will quit her job today…. Too much confidence for a horrible job. After she was done she did not wait for feedback. She walked away to the register. I would give this place a zero if I could.
I went for a trim from the back and layers and side swept bangs from the front. I went in with hair down to my lower back. It was long and i kept telling the lady, Misha, to make sure dont touch my length. She assured me my hair was long in the back just the front was being worked on. As soon as she cut my bangs i knew she messed up. Then she called her mom, kalpana, to fix it and her mom chopped off alll my hair and kept telling me dont worry im only blending the rest of the hair with the front bangs. I stayed calm and trusted her. Once both of them were done they tried to blow dry my hair to make it look cute cuz they gave me a mullet haircut bob. I walked out with shoulder length hair and horrible short bangs in the front. Nothing can fix it until it grows out and i was starting a new job the next day. Its been over a month and i have to pin up everything because its so ugly and short. When i confronted kalpana she smirked and said u walked in with that length and i had to show her a pic of my before hair to which she said well when u come for hair cut it will get cut. She is not only rude, unprofessional and bully but also an untalented scammer whose running a business under false pretense. I cried for days after the mental torture these ladies put me through. My family was so upset my husband was beyond upset she gave me a uneven bob mullet type of a hair cut which is beyond horrible. Then the daughter said dont worry we wont charge you.......after ruining my hair which took 2 years to get to that length and screwing up my bangs and giving me a bob u expected me to pay you guys. They have zero talent I WISH I NEVER WALKED INTO THAT SCAM PLACE.
One of the worst places I have been to. The lady only cared about getting to the next person in line. She did not accommodate any of the preferences I asked for and simply ignored it. She did not clean my eyebrows well and left behind many little hairs that were obviously visible. There is no acknowledgment of how you like your eyebrows. Never visiting again. Probably should have read the reviews before going. Almost everyone has had an unsatisfactory experience here.
The owner/ manager is horrible, first she said eyebrows is $6 and hair trim is $20 but once done she charged me $6 for each eyebrow. Who does one eyebrow only haha? They are scammer and charged haircut $25 I am never going back again to this salon -the oak tree Road
