Quick Facts About Sheesh Mahal
The Sheesh Mahal place has received mixed reviews from its customers. While some comments praise the restaurant for its delicious food, friendly staff, and unique dishes, others criticize it for its bland and tasteless curries, long wait times, and missing orders. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of Sheesh Mahal, we will analyze the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, several comments highlight the quality of the food at Sheesh Mahal. One customer mentions that it is the best curry they have ever had, praising the flavors and how filling it was. Another comment commends the restaurant for catering to specific dietary requirements, providing gluten and dairy-free options, which is often difficult to find in other establishments. Additionally, one customer who had lived in the Indian subcontinent for many years compliments the authenticity of the food, describing it as "classic and very very good." This suggests that Sheesh Mahal excels in providing a high standard of cuisine that is enjoyed by customers with varying tastes and dietary needs.
The friendly and helpful staff is another aspect that receives positive feedback. Multiple comments mention the amiability of the employees, which adds to the overall experience. One customer specifically mentions the service being of a high standard, aside from one inexperienced waiter who needed assistance with food-related inquiries. This demonstrates that the majority of the staff maintains a positive attitude and provides satisfactory service, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
The decor, although described as dated in one comment, is also mentioned in a positive light. The customer perceives it as charming, suggesting that the restaurant has a unique ambiance that adds to the overall experience. This suggests that the decor, despite being slightly outdated, contributes positively to the atmosphere of the restaurant.
In terms of weaknesses, the most common complaint is the lack of flavor in certain dishes. One customer states that the curries are bland and tasteless, while another comments that their lamb methis lacked flavor. These reviews suggest that the restaurant may need to work on enhancing the flavors or improving the seasoning of their dishes. Inconsistency in flavor could affect the overall dining experience and therefore needs improvement.
Another weak point mentioned is the quality and preparation of certain dishes. One customer criticizes the onion bhajees, stating that they were not cooked properly on the inside and were underwhelming. This indicates a possible lack of consistency in the kitchen or issues with the cooking process, which needs to be addressed to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for customers.
Several comments mention issues with missing orders and long wait times. One customer expresses disappointment at having a main dish missing from their takeaway order and being asked to return to the restaurant. Another comment mentions a negative experience on New Year's Eve, where a £40 meal was missing a dish and the remaining food was bland and dry. These comments indicate a lack of attention to detail or potential lapses in communication that need to be addressed to improve customer satisfaction and avoid such incidents in the future.
Another customer highlights the issue of payment options, stating that they were unable to pay via Apple Pay, despite it being advertised. This suggests a discrepancy between the advertised payment options and the actual available options, which should be rectified to avoid misleading customers.
Lastly, one comment mentions that the customer unknowingly spent a lot of money at the restaurant. Although not explicitly stated as a weakness, it implies that the pricing may not be clearly communicated or easily understood by customers, possibly leading to surprise or dissatisfaction when the bill is presented.
In conclusion, Sheesh Mahal has several strengths, such as delicious and authentic food, friendly staff, and options for customers with dietary restrictions. However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed, including bland and tasteless dishes, issues with missing orders, long wait times, payment discrepancies, and potentially unclear pricing. By focusing on improving the consistency of flavors, enhancing communication and organization, and addressing payment issues, Sheesh Mahal can further enhance its strengths and mitigate its weaknesses, ultimately providing a more satisfying dining experience for its customers.
Best TL Reviews
If I could give it 10 stars I would. Has to be one of the best testing carry restaurants you will ever find. I lived fır many year's in Indian sub continent, and this food is classic and very very good. Staff or friendly and helpful, and decor a bit dated but adds to the charm. Highly recommended. Certainly the best carry for Miles around. Parking a bit of an issue, but do not let this put you off. Location at heart of the town.
Awful meal for new years eve. Dripping in oil, so bland and lacking flavour. The Kochi literally looks and tastes like someone took an old onion bhaji and broke it up over the top of the curry. If it's a chicken chat, strangest one I've tasted. You pay a little extra in this place too and it's really poor. Not sure how they get awards as I've tried better food many times from unrecognised takeaways. Wouldn't order again. So disappointed. They missed a main out and asked me to go back. Nobody has time for that at 9.30 at night. A 40 quid meal which was missing a main worth 10 quid and what was there was bland, dry and lacking in seasoning. I couldn't get anywhere through the meals and they'll be for the food recycling. Shame. I'll always remember new years for the awful food served tonight.
Best Curry I have had, very filling, never had so much chicken in a Curry first class and some dishes never heard of and very tasty
It was my first meal there and it was a bit underwhelming after my friends who had eaten there loads had said how fab it was. Couldn't believe the size of the onion bhajees but I don't think they were cooked on the inside properly. My meal was OK but my friends who had been there heaps of times over the years said their lamb methis were quite flavourless. I heard the waiter swear under his breath as he walked away from the table, not being happy about something. I think all the meals needed to be better flavoured. The quantities of the portions were impressive though so I still managed to leave with a doggy bag.
The food was great. They even catered for my daughter, who is dairy and gluten-free. It's difficult to find places to dine out with her having the option of the same food as us so she doesn't feel left out.
Give credit where it's due - but not this time. Eatable - but curries bland and tasteless and there's no need to mention the 'French fries' (chips) which would have been more appreciated if they had been served up in France.
A fine dining in Indian style in the heart of the town centre. The ambience and service is of the higher standard except that one young male waiter is not very knowledgeable and had to pass on to the experienced one to answer queries about the food.
It’s surprising that we could not pay via Apple Pay although it’s displayed that this facility was available!
Really enjoyed food here... friendly staff with lovely food... spent a lot of money without realising though
