One customer expressed disappointment with the lack of customer service, stating that they would not be returning. This highlights a weakness in the customer service department of Simon's Chop Suey House. Rude and ignorant staff were mentioned in another comment, further emphasizing the poor customer service. This is a significant weakness for any restaurant, as good customer service is crucial for repeat business and customer satisfaction.
Another customer reported that their order was incorrect and that the staff tried to blame it on them. The staff's behavior of belittling the customer in front of others and continuously talking over them is again a weakness, as it creates a negative experience for the customer. Additionally, the fact that the restaurant did not answer the phone when the customer tried to address the issue is another weakness, as it shows a lack of responsiveness to customer concerns.
One positive comment praised the food, stating that it was lovely and piping hot with generous portions. This is a strength for Simon's Chop Suey House, as good quality and generous portions are an important factor for customer satisfaction. The mention of the chicken spring rolls being amazing and the generous portion of a banana fritter further emphasizes the positive aspect of the food quality.
A customer who had been using the place for years expressed disappointment in the quantity of duck and green peppers in their tray, stating that it was lacking in vegetables. This comment highlights a weakness in the portion sizes and ingredient ratios of certain dishes. Another customer mentioned that their beef dish was inedible as it was far too spicy. This highlights another potential weakness in the consistency of spice levels in their dishes, which may not appeal to all customers.
Despite the weaknesses mentioned, some customers still praised Simon's Chop Suey House for being the best local Chinese food. The salt and pepper squid and spring rolls were mentioned positively, emphasizing the quality of certain dishes. This is a strength for the restaurant, as it shows that they are able to excel in certain areas and have specific dishes that customers enjoy.
Another customer expressed satisfaction with their order, stating that everything was lovely. This positive comment highlights a strength in the overall quality of the food at Simon's Chop Suey House.
However, a comment stating that the owner may have changed and that the quality may have declined suggests a potential weakness in the consistency and management of the restaurant.
In summary, the strengths of Simon's Chop Suey House lie in the quality of certain dishes and the overall taste of the food. Generous portions were also mentioned positively. However, the weaknesses lie in the customer service department, with reports of rude and ignorant staff and a lack of responsiveness to customer concerns. Inconsistent portion sizes, ingredient ratios, and spice levels were also weaknesses mentioned. Overall, there are both positives and negatives to consider when evaluating Simon's Chop Suey House.

Average food but will not be returning due to the lack of customer service. This is a joke there. Rude and ignorant staff. Got my order wrong and tried to blame it on me, even though I was happy to take the order (I ordered 4 things mixed) the staff tried to belittle me in front of other customers and continuously kept talking over me when I tried to explain what I actually ordered. Appalling and extremely disappointed.
Was short changed by the driver by 10 quid when he delivered to rake lane hospital on sunday night.sent another staff member to collect .wont use again .tried to ring but no one picked up.shame on you
First time customer and I will definitely be going back, food was lovely and piping hot, very generous portions aswell,so much so that I couldn't eat my spring rolls till later???? the chicken spring rolls were amazing, even treated myself to a banana fritter which I haven't had in years, yet another generous portion.
I feel 5 stars isn't enough so I'll add another ☆☆☆☆☆☆
Used this chinese for years now and had the usual duck and blackbean sauce.
Disapointed by the quantity of duck and green peppers in tray. Lacking in veg and carton was not full and mostly sauce.
Unfortunately meal was not adequate for as a main meal.
Sauce was bland chips were OK as was curry sauce.
Very disappointed
Just had my first take away from here, crispy pancake rolls delicious, however beef in green chilli and garlic was inedible far too spicy and I like spice, after once piece of beef I can't feel my lips or tongue disappointed to say the least
Maybe not always perfect but certainly the best local Chinese food. We particularly like the salt and pepper squid and the really nice and very large spring rolls. Beijing duck is worth a turn too. Definitely a repeat order place.
I Ordered Spring rolls, Salt & Pepper chicken, Extra Chow Mien, Salt and Pepper Chips, Fried Rice and Curry Sauce. Got to say everything about it was lovely. I have so found myself my new local Chinese ????
This used to be best Chinese & went there for years. Got special chow mein, chicken was obviously from frozen as was square chunks & no vegetables at all!! Also egg fried rice which had no egg & lots of soy sauce plus heard the woman on phone to another customer, she was really rude to customer & actually hung up on them ????
Suspect Simon doesn’t own this anymore.... shame I won’t be back ????
