Lovely gardens but very overpriced. For £7.50 I would have liked the book with the history of the gardens that they were selling in the gift shop for £4, or a tea/coffee from the restaurant. Maybe some complimentary duck food to feed the ducks on the pond? It would have been nice to have some signs up explaining the history. Felt like a bit of a rip off sadly. Plenty of other gardens that are more impressive for that price.
Small charming gardens on Shepton Mallet opposite the old Babysham Factory. It is framed by a disused railway viaduct. It has relaxing water features and a nice range of trees and bedding with places to sit. The garden has a nice cafe serving a wide range of snacks, tead and coffees at reasonable prices. Got some stunning photos of me and my new wife, with the bridges and the flowers.
Really cleverly designed water gardens, with a lot of variety - large pond, viaduct, small stumpery, beautiful colourist long herbaceous border, stunning large water feature created over lots of small naturalistic terraces. Excellent foliage and flower planting, sure to please both casual and expert gardeners. Lots of seating around the site. Small plant centre and little indoor houseplant centre.
A beautiful place. Set with the viaduct as a backdrop, on different levels, this garden is well manicured and full of wonderful colours. Plenty of water, seasonal flowers, benches for a rest ... and close by is a lovely little cafe for a coffee and snack. Well worth a visit.
