Quick Facts About Sunset Harbor Bar and Grille

Sunset Harbor Bar and Grille has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, the most prominent one is undoubtedly the location. Being situated on a pier on the lake provides a gorgeous view, especially during sunset. This is a major draw for customers, as evident from multiple comments praising the view. The unique and beautiful atmosphere adds to the overall experience of dining at the restaurant.
Another strength mentioned is the friendly and attentive service. Multiple comments mention pleasant servers and attentive staff members who promptly refill beverages. Good service can enhance the overall dining experience and leave a positive impression on customers.
Several positive comments focused on the food, describing it as solid, tasty, and yummy. While not reaching the level of a five-star meal, it is clear that the food is enjoyable. The Seafood Sammy, roast chicken, fish taco, crab cakes, grilled walleye, and fried walleye were specifically mentioned as being good dishes. Additionally, the well-made waffle fries and delicious calamari fries were highlighted positively.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one of the most significant issues mentioned is the restaurant's location. It is described as a bit out of the way, which means it may not be easily accessible for everyone. However, the comments also suggest that despite the inconvenience, the restaurant is worth visiting if one is in the area near sunset.
The food, while generally well-received, is not without its flaws. Some comments mention that the food is good but not spectacular. One customer specifically criticizes the fish fry and fries, describing the fries as more like briquettes. This suggests that the quality and consistency of the food may not always meet customer expectations.
Another weakness noted is the lack of a lunch menu despite previous claims of being open for lunch. This discrepancy in information could create frustration for customers who are expecting a particular dining experience or menu options.
In terms of beverages, two comments express disappointment with the beer selection, both bottled and draft. This implies that the variety and quality of the beer options may need improvement.
Lastly, parking is mentioned as a potential issue. One comment advises arriving before the restaurant gets busy to secure a parking spot. This inconvenience may deter some potential customers.
In summary, the strengths of Sunset Harbor Bar and Grille include its gorgeous location with a fantastic view, solid and enjoyable food, and friendly and attentive service. On the other hand, the weaknesses include the restaurant's somewhat inconvenient location, inconsistent food quality, lack of a lunch menu despite previous claims, subpar beer selection, and potential parking issues.

Being on a pier on the lake is gorgeous and going at sunset is fantastic, the food is solid I have definitely had better but I wasn't going for a five star meal but rather a five star view. I will say their waffle fries are very well made.
This restaurant is a bit out of the way, but worth visiting if you are in the area near sunset. Views of the sun setting over the lake are amazing! The food is good, but not spectacular. Service is friendly, but the staff can get overwhelmed at times.
Try the Seafood Sammy (a fritter), it is tasty as is their roast chicken. Get the sweet potato fries, and ask for them crispy.
This was our first time visiting and we were impressed with the food. The food was great as well as the service.
The atmosphere is great actually unique. The food, well not so good. I got a fish fry with perch, and the fries were more like briquettes. Cool atmosphere but I wouldn't recommend eating there. On the lake watching the sunset that's what made it a good experience.
Very pleasant servers, beautiful view. JUST beware that they are only serving off the much more expensive dinner menu, even at 11AM, no lunch menu despite stating on their Facebook page that they are open for lunch beginning June 3rd!
Had a great lunch there on Sunday, the grilled walleye and the fried walleye, very good. Beautiful view, literally right on the lake. Kind of hard to get to, and they close up for the season in early October. Took away a star because their bottled beer and draft beer selections were weak.
Yummy food and a setting that cannot be beat. So lovely to sit out by the lake and enjoy the scenery. The fish taco was very good and the crab cakes were worth going for. Wish I had been there later to see the actual sunset, but I'm sure it's spectacular with how beautiful the scene was. Parking can be a little dicey, get there before they are super busy to get a spot.
Came here with a party of 5. Very nice server. Two entrees that came with fries were barely even warm. My grandpa never got the side salad that he ordered. Calamari fries were very good!! Our server was very attentive to refilling beverages. Great view of the lake!!
